I dig the Duacti's, Marty. In fact, because I love cars, I pretty much
can appreciate most cars. Guys like Donal have no clue. They read
magazines and dream about silly cars like the AM. He's so pathetic he
thinks there's a pecking order for cars that will elevate his status.
He needs to drive a MazdaSpeed3 and then his AM and tell me which one
is more fun on a twisty road. Of course the Evo X is more fun than
either.
BTW, the leather seats in the Evo have suede finished bottoms to hold
the driver in place during hard cornering. They are very nicely done.
The lavish seats in the AM are...well....lavish. They don't hold a
driver in place very well. Donal is a typical consumer dreaming of
exotic cars and missing the boat yet again.
Soon enough I'll be driving a GT-R. It's a supercar that trounces the
AM in every area, including fit & finish. It's about the handling and
the way a car feels blasting out of a turn, not who's car gets the
spot in front of the Casino. Someday James Donal Bond may learn that,
but it won't happen during any "advanced driving course" of course!

Oh my!

everything you've said smacks of the 80's. That was when big engines
and Harley/Ducati seemed wonderful. Then the Nissan 300 Twin Turbo
came out....and everything changed in a day.

eclisped by the Twin Turbo!!!!!

Donal thinks Harley Davidson's marketshare was impacted by the Nissan
Twin Turbo of the early nineties. He thinks a DB9 handles like a 911
AWD or Evo X. He's taking driving lessons IN a DB9!
And he has no sailboat. I doubt he has a world class handling car
either, but he's afraid to say.

I don't have a Kia Sedona anymore. We traded it for a SUV. With 50K
miles on it the Sedona was the only trouble free car I owned. I'm
picking up an Outlander XLS for Suzanne, so we'll see how it compares.

Actually, you're both clueless. By the mid 90's HD was fighting for
it's life due to serious quality control issues. They had lost a huge
share of the market and survived MAINLY due to their parts business.
They fixed their problems and are strong again, but they can't compete
with other builds for quality at all. Cosmetics are gorgeous,
performance is just short of awful.

The 4 is a cheap engine in a cheap car that
has been designed to exploit the "sub-prime"
market. It cannot use much gas because
a typical Evo driver is probably quite
cost conscious.

Mitsubishi Almost admit this in a press release:-

"Sales in the United States for October through December were down 3,000
units year-on-year, impacted by increased market competition stemming from
growing uncertainty about the future of the United States economy due to
the sub-prime loan problem."
