Wacom.... big deal. I thought you had some fancy rig I wasn't aware of
yet... that's like providing a link to a MicroSoft Mouse. It's cool to flip the pen and erase what you've just entered though! That tablet is far more capable than any you've used. You simply are out of the loop. This is a very common tool. If you tried one you'd buy it. I plan to. RB |

wrote in message I used the link that Bob provided, and went right to the correct page. How do you use all that "high end graphics software" if you can't even do a simple copy and paste without completely forking it up? Easy for you.... you're using the same computer! CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Not a fork in sight Bob..... Now a few questions ... why do you have such an old Notebook?? It's a Celeron 1GHZ with 10gig HD. It's also the boat computer. I'm in no hurry to replace it, because it does what I need. I do have a new notebook (5 months old), but Suzanne is using that for school. Why? Well editing photos would assume you'd want the highest end computer to handle the data..... I guess using an old notebook to download and edit your photos for your "job" is okay if you have inordinate amount of time and easy going clients. Personally... I'd download to the biggest and best equipped computer I had available to manipulate all those photos. What do you have for your newest Notebook Bob? ...and what is the make of the one you are using? I have an old beater... Acer 521 Travelmate P3 600Mhz.... okay for the field... but I always bring a mainframe with me for the field office. I'm thinking of a Toshiba, Acer or Dell..... but Alienware has a nice one available as well. Maybe I'll investigate the SFF Rigs and a Flat Screen.... CM CM |

I don't use the notebook for my job. I said it was the boat computer, All the same, Adobe Elements has no trouble handling RAW NEF from the nikon because it has ample memory. Not as fast as the desktop, but still fine. My desktop is a 3.2 200 gig HP with dual DVD burners and analogue video conversion. I also have an external video drive. Yet the lowly old notebook is just fine for casual use. I'm sure you think you have a point to make. Perhaps you'll clue everyone in? RB |

What kind does Bill have? What kind of Mac do you have.... and what OS are you currently using on it??? I'm only asking because a few combos of Mac and versions of their OSs really slow the units down. G3?.... G4?...... G5???..... BTW - HP suck backwash so bad as to be laughable.... talk about your off the shelf ****boxes! I built my own... Lian Li case... 2.4 Gig P4, Igig Ram. 128 gig Video, Asus Mobo.... it's kickin'! The Viewsonic UltraBrite A90f+ is just one of the best CRTs I ever had the pleasure to own. My other work computer is a 2.7 Ghz P4, a Gig of Ram and 256 video card.... it's got straps riveted to the case for carrying and a 2nd hand 19" Micron CRT that works remarkably well for the $50 I paid for it. Great unit for the field office. CM CM |

I currently use the Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse. That's a nice unit.... CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Why would you want to edit photos on your Notebook? I took 5 trips last summer, Mooron. I guess I should have taken the 21" flatscreen and CPU with me, right?? Bwahahahahaha! Trips??? .....download the photos and burn them to CD or DVD... why waste hours editing on a rig that runs like molasses in January? Your "Trips" amount to day trips or over-nighters.... you'd be behind the screen for hours on that hunk'o'junk! CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message I use quark for inserting my video box reviews into pre-formatted box art. It runs on PCs and Mac, by the way...and has for YEARS. You already tried Quark on a PC?.... sucks don't it! Why don't you run it on your Mac?? ... or did you buy a second fully licsensed version for your PC? My wife worked for columbia house as a copywriter. We take freelance work from them when they're in trouble...like now! Yeah.... copywriters are treated like the scum of the graphics field aren't they. Then again it's just a Typist on a Mac... isn't it. It's not like you need talent is it? CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Considering your formatting skills ... which cast a shadow of doubt on your abilities to utilize Quark... Exposed again! Poor Mooron just wrote that Quark requires a PC. No ... I said it was a Mac app. You might want to check and see that it's been around for the PC for YEARS. Available??? .... yeah Bob... sure! Unstable in early version BTW. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa...... CM |

wrote in message Oh... Did I mention that I was Director of Operations for a major newspaper chain before I retired? We had both Macs and Windows Machines all using Quark and Photoshop, and sharing files between them. Used an Atex mainframe front end complete with IAS, and then later a Novell network using CNI as a front end. Yeah Billy...sure.... and tell me again how easily the IBM handled Mac Files.... Director of operations...... Ha Ha ha..... what operations? Janitorial? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaaaaa CM |
