"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... BTW - HP suck backwash so bad as to be laughable.... talk about your off the shelf ****boxes! This is my 3rd Pavilion. All have been fast machines once their video cards were swapped. No problems with any of them. This 3.2 media center copies a movie in 6 minutes! Handles analogue video perfectly and never drops a frame from DV cameras. Wish I could say the same for a G4 or G5. Can't say enough good things about HP. Real good Bob... you compare a $1200 Hp to a $10K G5??? CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... 19" Micron CRT that works remarkably well for the $50 Micron guts generally equals a Mag on most monitors. Good quality if you can't afford a good LCD. Don't like the LCDs out now.... unless you have 20K for a screen without the resolution of a CRT. CM |

Spotone.... you mean the industry standard of Pantone? And you claim to be a professional? Bwhahahhahahaha Cheers Bwahahahahahahahaaaaa.... ya didn't read that last one through did ya? Yes I did an NO professional would think a software reference referred to a spot color system Bwahahhahahaha Cheers Do you understand how stupid you look right now Nav?? The spotone Bob referred to is not software.... and neither is Pantone. Go back to shaggin' the bone bag..... you're way out of your league here. spot colour system software... bwahahahahahahaaa.... what an imbecile! CM |

I thought you had some fancy rig I wasn't aware of yet... that's like providing a link to a MicroSoft Mouse. It's cool to flip the pen and erase what you've just entered though! That tablet is far more capable than any you've used. You simply are out of the loop. This is a very common tool. If you tried one you'd buy it. I plan to. My bro bought 2 new Wacoms this spring.... big deal... I've used tablets for years... their use is limited... it won't replace the mouse.... I currently use the Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse. That's a nice unit.... You can't do careful retouch work with a mouse efficiently. The pen is a much better interface for that. Nav... you're an idiot..... I can do complex digitized illustrations with a my optical mouse. I've done them for years..... CM |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... You can't do careful retouch work with a mouse efficiently. The pen is a much better interface for that. Which is why you see them in most digital suites. No you don't Bob... . They have a use... but they are not a requirement. CM |

Tablets are not designed to replace a mouse. Sigh. So are you saying they have a limited use parameter or are you saying you can do the same work on the same level at the same speed with either. I'm leaning to the latter. CM |

"Nav" wrote in message Why do you think you need 128 megs video memory to edit a still picture on the screen? Cheers Need... naw.... want...yeah. I can edit with my 8 megs of video on the laptop. It takes about 6 times longer than my "main frame"... or desk top unit as you prefer to refer to it. CM |

wrote in message ... On Wed, 15 Dec 2004 20:53:06 GMT, "Overproof" wrote: wrote in message Yeah Billy...sure.... and tell me again how easily the IBM handled Mac Files.... Completely transparently. and apparently not you idiot.... how long ago did you "retire" billy? You're like Bob's little sister vying for attention all the time with nothing but stupid comment to make. CM Well for openers, IBM in this context is hardware, not software or an operating system. Only a completely computer illiterate would be calling this an IBM issue. You could correctly call it a wintel/mac issue, as in "windows-Intel" but that's optional language. It's a Windows/ Mac issue. Apple makes both the hardware and the operating system for their product. Meanwhile, both Macs and Windows platforms can run Photoshop and Quark and save them to a common folder up on the Novell server, which is neither Mac or Windows. Go figure! Create a page in Quark on either a Mac or a PC and then pass it along to the next person on either a Mac or a PC who needs to work on that page. Holy crap! The file opens right up and you can do whatever you want with it! When I got into the publishing biz it was as systems manager for one newspaper. The next thing you know I'm promoted to General Manager/Publisher. That's just fine until along comes a big ugly publishing juggernaut, who is busy buying up smaller chains and independents. They buy my paper, and surprise, surprise... I'm the only management they retain at any of thier aquisitions in my state. They proceed to promote me over and over, until I'm managing virtually all of their properties in my state. It's okay for a while, but they are NOT very nice people to work for. Very abusive towards many of my co-workers. To this day, I'm not sure why, but apparently I'm more or less immune to this extremely poor treatment. They continue to heap money and promotions on me until it gets to the point where I'm basically in charge of everything, and getting calls at 3 AM from various properties around the state when they run into problems. I realize I have enough time in to retire, and more than enough financial security, so I retired. It wasn't until the third attempt that I was finally able to make it stick. My wife has a career she enjoys, so until she's ready to pack it in, I work for the informations systems department of one of the 10 largest cities in Connecticut about 35 hours a week. I took this job because I was able to stipulate that I was to be in charge of NOTHING. There is no such thing as calling me at home, or asking me to stay extra time for anything. I spend most of my time helping teachers and librarians (now called media specialists) integrate computers into what they do. Sounds like Bob... on Acid! CM |
