Doug related: If that's not scary enough, his insurance company refused
to pay for a rabies shot series and he shrugged it off... He didn't kill the thing and lop off its' head for the State to examine????I don't go near a "dead" possum without a shovel in my hands..... -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. Nope. he tried to pick it up, it tore the beejeezus out of him (lucky it didn't get his neck), and he dropped it (of course) and it ran off into the woods. That was idiotic enough, but to shrug off the possibility of rabies is moronic IMHO. It's been too long since "Old Yeller" was aired.... ... I don't go near a "dead" possum without a shovel in my hands..... I keep a small stock .22 shorts for just such occasions (and of course, a shovel). Nobody misses a 'possum except possibly the owls. What's even funnier is the reaction of these suburban geniuses to the presence (or even the mention) of snakes. DSK |

Oh, that is so cruel. We had ducks as youngins, when they got big, Dad got rid of them one day, Mom made fried chicken that night. ;o |

Read somewhere recently that kids got charged with cruelty to animals for seeing if it was true that chickens could run with their head chopped off. How times have changed. When I was a kid, that's where chicken dinner came from, and that's what happened to roosters that got a bit too cocky. They really could run around with their heads chopped off. Mandatory asa content: Bob****'s posts as a human equivalent. PDW |

Thoroughly enjoyed him for dinner that night. We really are raising a bunch of woosies. Seahag |

![]() They really could run around with their heads chopped off. They bleed out better that way....my gramma and my mom always did the deed by stringing a line, hanging them by their feet and slitting their throats...they'd do the dance macabre without getting all mucky... -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
