Flying Pig Prevention Measures
It has also been proven that women, even if they are the same size as men, have weaker muscles. It is well known that a woman who weighs 150 pounds has more of that body mass taken up with fat than the average 150 pound male who has less body fat and more muscle. Men's muscles, size for size, are stronger than women's muscles. So forget going head to head with men. Instead, be a good girl and concentrate on giving head. It's the path to womanly success. Wilbur Hubbard My Dear Wilbur, You are forgetting about the fat in some men's head. As you seem to have a bent for exhibiting a schoolboyish fascination for the physical reproductive aspects of women that I have noticed in many of your posts, may I suggest that you put away your dictionary that has the words "bum", "vagina", "sex", "penis" and other such sexual terms underlined, disengage yourself from your apparent enchantment with onanism, and avail yourself of professional help. They can be found on many street corners. There are times when I read your responses to queries, as well as some of your posts, with some respect. Then you make comments to a female poster which reveal your need to be disliked, further strengthening and proving to yourself your low self esteem and your need to say to yourself 'See Mummy, nobody wants to play with me". My kindest regards to your inflatable lady wife. I remain Please don't come south of the equator, Peter Hendra |

: Yeah, I like Charleston, too, Larry, but I can remember being directed to a slip @ the Maritime Marina that had "plenty of water" for my 3 1/2 ft draft cat. When we couldn't get closer than 6 ft off, I suggested to the harbormaster maybe there wasn't as much water as he thought. At least he cleated our docklines and hooked up the end of the water hose we tossed him. Cheapskate! The damned "Maritime Center" is only good for DJing wedding parties and Friday Night radio parties. It's the WORST place to dock a boat in Charleston...because that's NOT what it was for...but had to do something to earn money when the fishing fleet refused to get near it. Huge government waste project, extraordinare. Ashley Marina - about 25' at low tide (Tides are 5-6' here) City Marina (except near shore where the cheap *******s won't dredge) - about 20' at the outside docks (kept clear by those tidal currents someone else wanted to point out). Charleston Harbor Marina - 25-30' right on the edge of a 50' deep ship channel going out to sea. We gots lots slips with deep water. Many are at party docks! Larry -- |

Ever heard of Julia Hazel from Australia? Julia, who is now about my age, took a welding course, came home and welded a 30 foot steel boat by herself ( - and made a good job of it). At the time she couldn't afford an engine so she set off and sailed solo right around the globe without one. To move around when there was no wind she used a yulow (long single oar) out the stern. At the time Julia looked stunning and petite in a bikini. Funny thing is she also has a brain. She documents computer systems and programmes for a living. cheers Peter "KLC Lewis" wrote in news7mdnUMdSM8eBIzbnZ2dnUVZ_qiqnZ2d@centurytel. net: I'll go head to head with most men any day of the week, Larry. These are the women to which I'm referring....not Russian Mud Wrestlers capable of retracking a halftrack in Moscow in January. Larry |

news Ever heard of Julia Hazel from Australia? Again, we are talking about an EXCEPTIONAL woman....not the women we are sailing with. She's a very exceptional woman, indeed. If she were building HERSELF a yacht. I assume she would have designed in certain features for a girl who "looked stunning and petite in a bikini", as you put it. Her yacht wasn't like a Morgan Out Island like Flying Pig in a gale....wouldn't you say? I doubt she rowed far....probably to the end of the transient docks...(c; Larry -- |

I've sailed with many competent women and it is not uncommon to see cruising boats out there run by partners where the woman is the better sailor. In the local high school sailing league girls have proven time and again that they are at least as good as the boys at the varsity level. I agree....as long as the waves are small, the wind is light and the loads aren't heavy....or, as in the sailing league, the boat is small. At sea, in heavy weather, my 255 pound ass isn't big enough much of the time. I can't imagine a woman trying to get the main down in a 40 knot gale with rain pounding her and the deck boiling up around her. That's just not right, women's lib or no women's lib. She'll never be as strong as a man....sorry. Thinking otherwise, though politically wonderful, is foolhardy and dangerous. Larry -- I'll go head to head with most men any day of the week, Larry. I am understandably focused on cruising sailors and not day sailing. I have met quite a few of the latter - not sure which is more amusing, the men with the gold braided Captain's cap or the women with their designer yachting gear. - no I know that not all are like that. cheers Peter |

Some people can work the main in a 40 knot squall and some can't. It is the Captain's responsibility to know the limitations of the crew and to make allowances for them. -- Tom. |

What do you mean "someday'? I have been doing as I have been told by my owner for thirty years, but then I come from a country where the current and last Prime Ministers are women - New Zealand. Besides, how many men could stand at the wheel for over 20 hours without once leaving it in heavy weather when the new autopilot stopped working? My owner has. Another thing. Many cruising couples reveal that when it is time to go to the top of the mast, it is the woman who does so. I am expert at calling out instructions from below. Besides, I know where the tools she needs are. When the prop is fouled by a net, a line or a plastic bag (woven plastic rice bags are the worst), then the owner is urged over the side - my reasoning - woman have more subcutaneous fat than men and do not so readily sucumb to the cold. Besides, everyone knows that sharks do not attack women as readily - something about their smell. Lastly, women can be yelled at and sworn at during docking or anchoring - quite common in my experience. If you treated a male friend like that you would be sailing alone or lying prone often. cheers Peter Hendra Ha! :-) |
