As a concession to you Kman, I will add this addenum instead of
reposting the above. I got to thinking more about my last post to you, and desired to clarify the "Good Bye." It is only good bye regarding the past personal situation, and I would look forward to the positive input you have regarding the paddling experience you share. I did not want you to be devastated thinking that I had signed off and out of your net life, and of interacting with you. It is just way to much fun! However, I would encourage you to stock up on the aspirin, since the Canadian product seems to have the propensity to explode which I am sure voids any guarantee of medical value. TnT |

TnT Tinkerntom, I have to ask (and I realize this is personal, no offense taken if you don't want to answer) but... Have you in the past, or do you currently, experiment with Lysergic Acid Diethylamide? |
Kman, Your post show up instaneously?.. Well that is nice for you. One
lister I tried previously took several days to publish a post. Really made it frustrating to try to participate in a conversation. So I hope you can understand why I am not to excited about list servers. Even during our previous debacle of a discussion, last November, when I posted, I had to typically wait for several hours to see my own post, and I had no idea when you saw it, and were able to respond so quickly. But then I had to wait again several hours for your post to be published so that I could respond. They blamed it on bandwidth, but three to four hour lag time was hard to live with. I did check out the list server that Melissa referenced, and in their FAQ they state that due to the filtering process, there is a lag time from post to publication. There was also the fact that they were located in Germany, and a number of their functions were addressed in German. No spreckenzie Deutz! So if you have a list server that does not have this problem, I would be more than glad to check them out. I would also be glad to hear from you how else you feel that the list server is preferable to going directly to Google. So this ability to post directly on the forum at the web portal is very nice now for me. I can post, and after only a few minutes, I can see it published. I do understand, that the multiple postings would be distracting to you, if the cancelled post at my end is still published at yours. I will continue to work on not doing that. I will also use the preview button more carefully and check for spelling errors. I again realize that we all make sp errors, and I have been ridiculed by some on this forum for previous spelling errors. So I have tried to be more careful to correct them. TnT |
It is more like,
"Plop, Plop, Phiz, Phiz. Oh what a relief it is! TnT |
Melissa, I got your email, and will process.
As to last rquest, that would be fine by me! In fact, I read an article, that they are opening Gross Reservoir here in Colorado to paddle boating for the first time. The relevancy to this OP, is that they are warning that the water is very cold - 40 F - all year long. PFDs are required, but seems it would be prudent to wear cold water gear as well. Strong winds (60 to 110+Mph) can come up suddenly, generating large waves, in the canyon area which is why they are not going to allow sailing. I think that this is just a trial, and I wonder how long till someone unprepared drowns, and the management closes access again. Bummer! Gross reservoir is a very pretty, blue water, reservoir that is completely surrounded by relatively primitive lands. The only camping is primitive, and access is limited, so should be a real nice experience. I am totally looking forward to checking this area out. TnT |

Before I say anything, I have to ask if you have heard of "newsgroups" or "newsreaders." So this ability to post directly on the forum at the web portal is very nice now for me. You may think so, but to people reading newsgroups in other ways (most people) your posts often appear twice, and almost always without context (information from whatever post you are replying to) which makes it extra difficult to know what you are talking about and to whom. |
Keenan, I am glad to hear from you again, REALLY! Thanks to Melissa, I
have heard about newsgroups and newsreaders, and I expect to be making some changes, regarding how I am posting. I moved this weekend, and worked late today, so have not had time to follow through yet, so I am posting this using the old aggravating to you way, and it may hit you twice, so I must again apologize. I would just encourage you to know that I am understanding more where I have been going wrong, and I appreciate your continuing patience. Until I make these changes, I will try to refraime from continuing to post in the RBP. So please don't post anything that will set me off again, and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and its not a train. TnT |

OK :-) Thanks to Melissa, I have heard about newsgroups and newsreaders, and I expect to be making some changes, regarding how I am posting. Good luck wit that. I moved this weekend, and worked late today, so have not had time to follow through yet, so I am posting this using the old aggravating to you way, and it may hit you twice, so I must again apologize. It's really not about me, Tinkerntom. I assure you that for any others reading your posts the experience is the same. But you could save a lot of time in future by just dropping your guard. |
