Yeah but if you have a full version of Photoshop on your computer... why
bother with Elements program? I have Elements 3.0 on my Notebook computer, which only has a small HD. Only the new computer with it's 200GB drive has PS. It will open the NEF files with the Nikon View download and does everything I need. I don't use PS's higher end features. This is just silly. You're actually bothering with this thread after I smashed you in the others. It's over Mooron. But leave those forks (must be about 50) stuck in your backside as a reminder! RB |

Not a fork in sight Bob..... Now a few questions ... why do you have such an old Notebook?? Why do you download to a Notebook with like 8 megs of video memory when your desktop must have at least 128 or more never mind a minimum of 500 megs ram? Why would you want to edit photos on your Notebook? Heh maybe... you dropped the fork and sat on it... but it hasn't penetrated the fat layer yet? CM |

I can edit with my 8 megs of video on the laptop. It takes about 6 times longer than my "main frame"... or desk top unit as you prefer to refer to it. CM |

I'm well aware of the ancient status of my beater Laptop..... I'm aware of what's available. I also know what's required to complete photo editing in a timely manner.... and 64 megs compared to 256megs is a major time factor increase. Never mind the screen size you have to work with.... let alone the HD space and limitations on peripherals. I currently use a RAID set-up.... on my "desk-top"... I'm looking at the newest Asus board and maybe the XT 800X All in Wonder 256 Meg graphics card. I have a bunch of old 8mm movie reels that I want to record and store. They are circa 1950 and include quite a few animated movies from the era. I believe I have some old black and white "Tweety & Sylvester" as well as very old "Mickey Mouse" reels. The ones before they changed his appearance. I want to store them to digital for personal use. Can you advise me on how to best approach this? CM |

And you think that's due to having 128 megs of VIDEO memory? You know nothing about computers.
