Default Congratulations, Bob.

He doesn't even know the variation has not completed a deviation table....
he uses the GPS.

| | Radar, GPS and a clearly marked channel ... but you have to make
several
| | passes in case you might be wrong????
| |
| | Just following suggestions, Mooron, from sober sailors.
| | Tell you what, I'll bring home the cruising guide and copy what's
| written
| for
| | you.
|
| Great... I'd be happy to read where it says you should make several
passes
| before daring to enter the clearly marked harbour because your
| navigational
| expertise may be compared to a blind wombat on sedatives.
|
| | BTW, do you know what the entrance looks like at night?
|
| No.. but let's face it.. you claimed a mooring field and others who have
| been there remarked it was a busy harbour with clearly defined entry. I
| know
| enough to be able to identify a harbour at night.... painted on radar
and
| compare it to a chart to place myself within the GPS track to enter ...
| especially with a spot light to confirm the buoy numbers, shape and
| color...
| even drunk!
|
| Obviously this little exercise had you confused, confounded and
befuddled
| enough to require several passes! No wonder you dropped sail when
| approaching a marked channel in moderate breeze on a clear day! Oh
yeah..
| you're a whiz at this aren't you Bob!!
|
| Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!

|
| CM
| BTW: I'm hoping you're having as much fun with this as I am! ;-)

Thanks, we did very well and had a great time. Suzanne is getting a great grasp
of nav skills.
We do our sailing unhampered by the need for drugs.

There was nothing in his posts to indicate that he looked at the GPS.

He wasn't involved in the nav.

Default Congratulations, Bob.

Did you notice that he didn't answer my question about the
identity of the skipper?

Why the lies, Donal? I did answer you. I said you were the skipper, a guardian
angel protecting us in spirit as we entered the dangerously forbidden Port
Jefferson, or as it is known on the LIS, The Port Of Lost Souls.

Bwahahahahahaaha!

Default Up yours, Bob.

There's few bigger assholes on this group than
Donal but you're one of them.

Give it a rest already before I sail up there and
put a boot in your fat, lying, pimply face. You've
become a pathetic presence around here.

Not only will you stay anchored on that billion lb test rode, but even if
someone torched you free, you lack the balls to sail up here.
Stop making threats. If you have an ounce of anything resembling courage, come
pay me a visit. Loser!

It'd be too hard to find you anyway. You can't even find
yourself on a map or chart. You go sailing only in your
dreams. Thimbles - yah right!

I'd have to hire a private eye who knew the location of all
the fast food establishments in New York and visit them all
one by one until I saw them wheeling you in or out on a
dolly.

Another lie from Donal. As I clearly indicated, I spot used the GPS to give
Suzanne our position. She did the rest, also using her Davis bearing compass
(for practice) to confirm positions. Remember, the LIS is one long single road.
On the return leg, little nav was truly needed to get home. City Island is the
"last" stop before the bridge run begins.
