It will tell you what parts to get for each brand. You can then know what parts to look for either new or used. A typical non-raingutter car will use towers (common), crossbars (common, but come in different lengths for different width cars), and fit pieces (specific to the kind of car). Those with factory roof rails or roof tracks typically use different types of mountings.
