Have you looked into the cost of getting a new dock built lately It isn't just money. Permitting can be almost impossible if anyone saw anything that looked remotely like a manatee within a couple miles of your dock. Lee County may still be underr a total moritorium. They say they lifted it but I am not sure any permits have actually ground their way through the goverrnment maze. Bingo! It isn't just So. Fla. that has this problem. You buy a place on the water with the hope of building a dock and then find out that you can't get through the permitting process becasue there are local, state and federal hoops that you have to jump through! So, if you want a dock then buy a piece of property that has a dock and fix it up! |
