The need for militias went out the window when the US decided to maintain standing armies in the 1950s. I still consider hunting an honorable pursuit if it's not just for sport but for sustenance. The NRA, gun manufacturers and politicians end up protecting vigilantes. *Until they're personally affected by one of these paranoid idiots, they'll continue to succumb to political pressure.
