I requested depths around the course markers and the committee were unable
to provide them. That's crazy. A few times I've run aground because the marks were in shallow water... what a PITA. Another club likes to put marks up in coves where the wind is light & squirrelly, "to make it challenging." ... I immediately stripped one of my female crew of her red bra and flew it off the backstay. I was rewarded by a sudden alteration of my PHRF rating to 150!! The *******s! Maybe they thought you're boat would be very much faster with the additional sail area... Funny thing was that about 2 minutes after I found out I won I ended up in an argument with another Captain regarding what he thought was a violation of racing rules because the girls on my boat distracted the guys on his Niagara 35 by working the foredeck topless.
