I'll let them have "elections" and then place my own Rooster in charge

Sure there will be bloodshed and lost chickens... but that's the cost of

I can declare war on the terrorist raccoons.... they have Paws of Mass

I think that you have been subjected to propoganda.

There are many disreputable charities who deliver very
little of their income to the needy. However, most
mainstream charities are quite efficient. The St.
Vincent de Paul, for example, spends 90% of its income on
the needy.

There is nothing wrong with taking care of one of God's

that you love, be it pet or another human being. Most
people who are generous and kind to pets are also
generous and kind in charitable giving. People who are
mean to animals generally don't give a rat's ass about
people at all...

That sounds really nice. In fact I'd suggest that it is
politically correct rubbish.

Cataract surgery for cats and dogs costs roughly $150,
takes 10 minutes, and generally only one clear eye is
required for a pet to function normally.

You could probably feed an African family for 6 months
with $150.

Who cares? Obviously not you, or you would sell your leaky sailboat and

Anyone who'd put down a pet due to cataracts is slime.

Anyone who would spend $150 dollars on a pet has
definitely got their priorities wrong.

That money could feed 5 hungry African children for
months.

You're right. Only a fool believes that Washington truly represents his
beliefs, or vice versa. The Executive and Legislative branches are the most
powerful self-interest groups in existence. They primarily exist for
themselves, not for us. If you believe otherwise, you've been duped.

I really don't know what a neocon is in your vernacular, nor do I care. But
I've recently (last ten years) become a fiscal conservative, which is not
much in line with the Bush spending habits, but wishing for tax relief and a
major reining-in of government give-away programs and spending in general.
I'd like to see the size of government diminshed greatly from its present
iteration. I've alwasy been a social moderate which is not much in line
with the Bush administration either, except w/r/t the rights of the unborn
and opposition to gun control. I didn't vote for Kerry, mostly because his
voting showed him to be a potentially bigger spender than Bush, loving every
federal give-away program that ever saw the light of day. Further, I knew
there was no hope for tax relief under Kerry, and probably the opposite
would have been the case if he'd had a democrat congress as well. As for
social issues, Kerry probably was too far left of my views, but then W is
too far right. I don't support the religious right (an extremist group) nor
do I support any left-wing extremist groups, with the exception of the
environmental ones.

are unable to work. I get *very* angry when somebody gets *sick pay*

when

Don't let your blood pressure get into the red zone, you mindless,

clueless
jerk. I'm self-employed. Yes, my staff and my practice did suffer
financially by my absence,

How much did you lose?

but you obviously have never had a genuine
influenza,

I've had influenza twice. Once when I was 15, and again three years ago.

or you'd not be defecating from your pie-hole about things you so
obviously know absolutely nothing about.

Wanna talk about irresponsibility? How about those doctors that continue

to
see patients while shedding influenza virus? Epidemics have resulted from
such negligence. Influenza is consistently among the top ten killers
worldwide. The Hong Kong flu of the mid-70s killed more than half a
million. The Port Chalmers flu killed about half that many. Type A
influenza kills roughly 50,000 annually, and Type B somewhat less,

primarily
because it is rarer.

I heard that doctors went on strike in the US a few years ago. During this
strike, the death rate rose. Is this true?

You'd be well-advise to put a cork in it, lest you appear a bigger asshole
than most of us already acknowledge you to be.

You over-estimate my reliance on your opinion.

I couldn't care less about what happens in Canada. If your government is
happy to pay you to sit on your arse, that is their problem. If you came
to
live in England, then I might get a bit upset!!

Well...... I can't believe you would take such a haphazard attitude to the
benefits of government subsidized vacation time Donal! I pay into the
insurance plan.... so what is the ethical problem in taking advantage of a
program I subsidize??? There is no employment in my line of work during the
winter..... in my area. I am merely taking advantage of my climactic
conditions and recouping a small portion of the ridiculous taxes I'm forced
to endure.

Do you find yourself burdened by your self imposed ethics?

katysails February 19th 05 02:41 AM

I don't remember any doctor strike in the US...there was a nursing strike in
Minnesota....very bad boo...

What a dufus.. Well, you got what you voted for. I don't know how it would
be possible to do worse than Bush re spending. Kerry might not have been the
absolute best person to lead the nation, but Bush has been the worst in
recent memory, including Nixon, who at least had a reasonable idea of what
foreign policy means.

Don't worry about tax relief. You won't be getting anything from Bush. He's
already talking about raising taxes to offset this nonsense about "saving"
Social Security.

You need to look up the definition of neocon. I'm sure you'll capable. Use
Google.

According to your own statements, you're no neocon.

Talk about underachievement... you need remedial lessons in logical
thinking.

My boat is totally adequate for my needs at the moment, especially since I
have free access to another dozen or so boats of various sizes. I hate to
tell you Maxipad, but size doesn't matter. It's all about what you do with
what you've got.

Dopey, you're a fool if you actually think that you're representative of
the neocons now in DC. They don't give a crap about the environment or
social issues. They only care about big business and religious right.

You're right. Only a fool believes that Washington truly represents his
beliefs, or vice versa. The Executive and Legislative branches are the
most powerful self-interest groups in existence. They primarily exist for
themselves, not for us. If you believe otherwise, you've been duped.

I really don't know what a neocon is in your vernacular, nor do I care.
But I've recently (last ten years) become a fiscal conservative, which is
not much in line with the Bush spending habits, but wishing for tax relief
and a major reining-in of government give-away programs and spending in
general. I'd like to see the size of government diminshed greatly from its
present iteration. I've alwasy been a social moderate which is not much
in line with the Bush administration either, except w/r/t the rights of
the unborn and opposition to gun control. I didn't vote for Kerry, mostly
because his voting showed him to be a potentially bigger spender than
Bush, loving every federal give-away program that ever saw the light of
day. Further, I knew there was no hope for tax relief under Kerry, and
probably the opposite would have been the case if he'd had a democrat
congress as well. As for social issues, Kerry probably was too far left
of my views, but then W is too far right. I don't support the religious
right (an extremist group) nor do I support any left-wing extremist
groups, with the exception of the environmental ones.

You haven't accomplished anything that I can tell. Why don't you make a
comprehensive list and get back to us.

Poor Jon. Hey there big guy, it's really not a crime to be an
underachiever. Don't be so hard on yourself.

(Hovath's major accomplishment is that he was hoodwinked into buying a
piece of crap hunter.)

Um, what is the size of that Hunter? What size is your boat?

Whatsamatta U. is, and has been, Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo.
And no, I never attended there. I attended the University of Wyoming,
Ball State University (Bachelor of Science in Business) and Indiana
University (Doctor of Optometry).

What are your credentials, Jon?

Oh, sorry Jon, my oversight. I should have explained that a Bachelor of

expected you to know that.

I'm still awaiting your credentials, Jon.

None of your business, really.

I've had influenza twice. Once when I was 15, and again three years ago.

I've had it twice. This was nowhere near as painful as the Hong Kong flu I
had years ago, during which I prayed for, but was not granted, a quick
demise. g This one only made me wish I were unconscious or heavily
drugged.

I heard that doctors went on strike in the US a few years ago. During

It's hogwash. First, physicians here are largely independent, albeit many
more now are employed by HMOs, hospitals, and corporate clinics than before.
Against whom would they strike?? Our doctors take the Hypocratic oath, and
99.9% of them take it very seriously. To boot, neither physicians nor
hospitals are allowed by law to refuse care to those in acute need. I don't
know where you got that bit of disinfo, but it's just that.

You over-estimate my reliance on your opinion.

You'd be well-advised to reconsider, in light of the fact that the opinion
is not only mine.
