It's been an average of minus 38 here for a long while.

Phooey... Weather Underground says it's only minus 12! Of course it is
very sunny today. I hope that you brought your swim trunks.

....I've been working survey and in
charge of 2 crews erecting steel abutments for bridge crossings. Cols steel
at 40 below just sucks the heat out of you! The snow is belly deep to a
moose and it makes for a diffcult time surveying. I've gotten more
snowmobile and Argo time this season than all the other years combined. One
of my local buddies just got his commercial helicopter cert.... so I'm off
to the Franklin Mountains tomorrow morning for a spin!

That sounds like a lot of fun... but that far north, is there any point
in surveying? It's all ice and snow, one place is that same as every
other, right

Get this now...... they provided me with two beautiful blonde babes as
helpers. I'm not kiddin' ya... these girls are cute. How lucky can you get
eh?!! The girls are back at base camp.... Ha Ha Ha! They get out next week
when the bar brings in the male strippers for lady's night!

A male stripper as 12 below? Sounds like a tough way to earn a living.

I'll post pictures to webshots when I get back.... I'm on a snail connection
here. Take care and I'll see if I can check in on Sunday before I head back
out to the sticks. Man what totally AWESOME country this is up here!!!

Well some pictures of life up in the frozen north would be excellent.
But one reason why your connection might be slow is that it's iced up...
the town of Norman Wells web site is congealed in a puddle of liquid
nitrogen and makes my browser get uncontrollable shivers.

Here look

Good to hear from you, Mooron

It is today... and actually the warm weather started midweek..... but it
was -27c this morning. Nobody is wearing coats today! :-D

What the Heh!.... it's keeping me in the "Cha-Ching" range!

I'm sure they'll be at the bar.... at any rate a male stipper is a
disgusting prospect no matter what the temp!

Notice how all the photos are taken in summer!!??

We went to go Ice Fishing and blew the tranny in one of the machines 10
miles out. We went back and we got the dog team hitched to tow it back. Now
that's a sight and my camera is at Gibson's Creek right now. Damn it all!

Later Doug....

He also says he's also on course to
become a daddy...

Well there goes the toys.... no more "latest & greatest gadgets" for Poppa
Sprit!!!
Suzanne will make certain all extra funds go to the child!

Think about it.... a Baby Bobby! Whoa Nelly! I'll bet that mellows out Brody
faster than anything!
He'll need all the extra funds from his Dumpster Diving/E-Bay sales just to
afford his Marina fees!
The A/V room he so cherishes will be converted into a playroom for Lil'
SweetPea Brody....

It been decided. For a boy-- Lamont Sanford Brody..

If it's a girl I guess it will be Ester.

Baby proofing the pad will consume more of his cash and require his gadgets
to be stored out of harm's way.

Yup.... I hope Bob keeps us updated on his new comic strip... Brutus,
Olive'n Sweetpea!

I'm thinking of going Ice Fishing today.... I leave tomorrow morning to
return to the bush!
Take Care... I'll check in again when I return to Halifax.

Good thing somebody kept the dogs. It's true that they have a number of
limitations but two Sno-Cats will never make a litter of new ones...

Did the tranny blow up because the gear oil solidified?

It is a very different scene down here. The marina was crowded for the
first time since last September. The buzz of hand sanders working on
their varnish, power washers blasting, and the occasional lazy sot
foregoing boat work to go sailing... nice breeze today too.

I have been working down in our engine room and have completed fuel
system replacement & upgrade, it was nice and cool down there while
everybody else was sweating up a storm.

Take care
Doug

Well, it's been over 70 deg. F (25 c for the rest of Europe) here, and the
peach tree in the back yard has buds all over. Never packed those shorts
away, it's been a very warm winter with thoughts of you, Capt Mooron...

Get this now...... they provided me with two beautiful blonde babes as

Constant reminders of me, no doubt... :-D

You aint a kiddin! All the attraction pictures on the towns web site
must have been taken in August. I dont see the 10+ feet of snow Moron
described.

They are currently 110 degrees F.(not the silly smelly chainsmoking
gay french measuring system moron uses) colder than here. I bet they
have to hand out huge stacks of money to get anyone to work in that
frigadare.

By comparison your in a mild climate Katy. It's kinda funny you
telling him it is way to cold while you shiver thru spring.

Cold is a relative thing to where you are and what you get used to. My =
cousin Alea lives in the northeast of B.C. and lives for the cold, just =
like Mooron does. Difference in cold here and cold there is that it =
costs less to heat up a house here than there and to stay qarm inside.
