of Maine, with 50 foot waves expected in the Gulf Stream.

We actually lucked out enough to go through CH (or actually through the rocks
off the end of CH) in a near flat calm.

were trying to avoid the Stream as best we could.

quite a bit west of CH.

Stream does, which itself also moves around quite a bit. The boat owner did
not wish to pay for Jenn Clarke's prediction service. Indeed, other than
finding outselves in the Stream when we didn't want to be, and the weird eddy
that pushed us 100* off our heading, we didn't have any real problems with the
Gulf Stream.

BTW, Jax, anyone running that far offshore, heading for St. Aug., is asking to
find the Gulf Stream (I'd bet most ship traffic [s-bound] was inshore of you.)
More than likely, you found the "stream", not an eddy (no way to know for sure
with the info you have supplied), considering your direction of set.
