You've mentioned these rocks at Cape Hatteras before. Why aren't they shown on
any chart? All I've ever seen there are shoals, but no rocks. Are you sure you
were there?

thom, I said we "would have" ducked into port had we been two days later
passing Cape Hatteras, as at the point there was an unexpected gale coming out
of Maine, with 50 foot waves expected in the Gulf Stream.

We actually lucked out enough to go through CH (or actually through the rocks
off the end of CH) in a near flat calm.

The Gulf Stream -- at that time anyway -- was running quite close to CH and we
were trying to avoid the Stream as best we could.

St Augustine, indeed Miami past which the Gulf Stream passes very closely) is
quite a bit west of CH.

The eddies of the Gulf Stream come and go, and move around even more than the
Stream does, which itself also moves around quite a bit. The boat owner did
not wish to pay for Jenn Clarke's prediction service. Indeed, other than
finding outselves in the Stream when we didn't want to be, and the weird eddy
that pushed us 100* off our heading, we didn't have any real problems with the
Gulf Stream.

Jax,

In your reply found in Jon's reply I believe of the 18 th. You say you
ducked into Port to miss the "Norther" in the Gulf Stream. Later on you
claim 100 miles off shore following the Continental Shelve.

Where were you when you "ducked into port?"

Also have to ask; why 100 miles off shore where the Gulf Stream had an
influence on you when your designation was in Florida. Those replies do
generate questions from an old man (Ole Fart) (Drunk) What ever.

Abuse accepted but answers still requested.

By the way is you check a Chart you will find that to be 200 hundred
miles off shore and be on the edge of the shelf you are in the Caribbean
and getting farther away form Florida. Why would you be that far off the
Coast when the Counter-current, flowing South is in closer; about 10
miles?

You can answer anyway you want this is my finally comment on "LIFELINE"
Topic is much to far removed.
