"we were messing with them"? "all the trim herself"?

She + messed with them + me watching = WE.

Some consideration of the notion that "she messes with them, you watch,
therefore you are also messing with them" leads me to conclude that, by your
logic, a witness to a crime would be a criminal.

You are most kind. I would have called him a third rate writer and hope
that it would achieve similar results. It worries me that such
encouragement of incompetance may lead to complacency. After complacency
comes sloth and he already saeems to have plenty of that except when
reaching for food. Perhaps I should try to compliment him on his ability
to not drip grease on his decks -or does he?

I am not a scientist. How much lard can one carry before one begins to
drip?

Perhaps Gilligan can answer this scientific question!

Ignore those who would blind you with science, for the answer is
obvious: take away all the lard and you'll still be left with a
drip.

Can't be much worse than a start, or a crowded mark rounding.

The conversation was within the context of getting back to dry land. I agree
with the start and mark roundings being more frenetic, though, since
everybody is trying to go fast as well.

"If it's going to happen, it'll happen out there."

Or, for Boober, "Don't worry, they'll get out of our way."

Why would that be? Does the owner's stupidity or arrogance increase with
boat size?

The world is filled with people who sail, but can't sail.
Have a chat with Scotty, Ganzy, Donal and others and you'll quickly gather

what
I mean. These types rely on magazines and watching Captain Ron to design

their
sailing ideals.

So, you admit that you're gay?

So far, you haven't ignored any of my lame trolls.

Loser.

See? Not a word and he's back to the same old gay stuff!

Gay Ganzy shows so little imagination the poor sod calls me "Gay Robert

Brody."
Gee, that's catchy.
Let me help him out....how about Boy Banger Bob or Boy George Brody?
Show some spirit, man, and I won't ignore most of your lame trolls!

I can imagine it would be quite scary with boats that are big,

expensive
and
slow to stop.

I tend to worry about the "other guy" more.

Default Sailing into a berth!

Yup. I have my students practice docking under sail as part of
the course. The women seem to do better at it.

The first few months I had my last boat I could not keep the engine
running reliably. Turned out to be a carb problem but in the time I
spent figuring it out my sailing skills improved immensely. I learned
to tack up an extremely narrow channel, and dock under sail in a slip
with a finger pier on one side and a neighboring boat on the other,
both fore and aft first.

You want to become a better sailor, disable your engine. However, it
will make your neighbor nervous at first.

What every, single,, solitary so-called sailor

Nothing spoils a seamanlike job of sailing a
vessel into her berth while having that exhaust
outlet spurting water and smelly diesel fumes.

Real sailors don't need a motor running and at
the ready. There is only ONE reason for a motor
on a sailboat and that is when there is no wind.

I understand that the abundance of photos you post of sailing is for

our
enjoyment and not to validate your abilities Bob...... BUT........

Mr.
Murphy will insist that each time you dock under sail flawlessly there

will
be none to witness the event... but should you screw up a dozen will be

on
hand to share the joy. I just happened to be quite proud of the fact

that I
not only docked a charter boat on which I had no previous experience in
close maneuvering... but I actually had the good fortune to do it while

a
large group of people watched.

I merely commented because I know your past opinion on docking under

sail
as being considered a dangerous and risky affair and not to be

undertaken by
anyone. I'm glad experience has taught you different. Like MOB

drills...
docking under sail drills are required to compliment a well rounded set

of
sailing skills.

No. He's hopeful. Try and be positive bobby, it doesn't
really hurt when you get used to it.

And by the way, I'm really not interested about a full report of each
time you go sailinng for an Hour or two. IT's BORRRRRRIIINNNGGG.

Thom, why lie?
If you're bored, simply ignore the threads.

I sailed dinghies for 6 hours, then 3 hours on an Express 30. Typical day.
How long did you sail yesterday?
Oh, we stomped a J29 last night, and didn't exceed 11k.
