How'd you do on the back nine? ROTFL!!!!! That *wasn't* that funny. And, I'm one who has a sense of humor. He knows I'm a new golfer, and he's simply saying things to ruin what little motivation for the game I have left. Sounds like you'll give it up soon. The only reason to golf is to socialize, and fool yourself that you're getting good exercise. You can socialize at the corner bar with a better class of people, know with certainty you're not exercising, and get a buzz to boot. --Vic |

That was the club over on the 101st base right? Let me think, just north of Bein Hoa City right over the hill from the long runway? Had a 105 howitzer fire base attached to it? We spent a night there after we were released from the air base - good time if it was the same place. They had a house band from the Philippines that did cover tunes - damn they were good. The Navy EM club at Cam Rahn Bay over by where the Swifts docked was a great place too. Those Swifties knew how to party I'll tell you what. Oh - 0h - I feel some war stories coming on. Better quite while I'm ahead. :) I'm not a coffee aficionado. I've enjoyed any of the bolder Starbucks varieties, but I'd never go pay $20 a pound or more for coffee. I actually quite coffee quite a number of years ago. Unless you consider a Coffee Coolata or coffee ice cream "coffee". I bet a lot of your war stories would be interesting. If Canada had been in that war...I would have been the right age. I turned 18 in 1967...just before things turned to rat****. Born in '49? It was a very good crop that year. Eisboch (vintage... 1949) Always wished mom had held off another 4.5 months. Then I would have been born in the 50s...not nearly so ancient sounding as the 40s. |

Don, I'd bet you a pocketfull of 'toonies' that Chuck would fly out here and do a write up of the lobsta boat, if Harry could convince him that it existed. I know Harry's like a brother to you, and all, but... Our sheriff is again stirring the pot..............and he wants a NG without friction or confrontation. Just another hypocrite. I know... he's playin' me now. More trouble than it's worth to collect my $2.00 |

From what I heard, that fire base support weren't the brightest bunch in the world. As I heard it, they got into two or three fire suppression battles with one of their own fire bases somewhere in the Central Highlands. Maybe it was the beer. :) Oh yeah! the 'friendly fire' trick. We have learned about that real good. |

Meanwhile, as long as you have introduced the thought that we should be critical of the quality of posts to the NG, I'm still looking for some evidence that your lobster boat exists outside of your imagination. Wait! I know just where to turn to find it: rec.boast Ok JohnH. I think you owe me a toonie. I will accept two of your 'merican bucks... if you send them before they devalue any further. Two dollars will buy you a cupa at Mickey D's. Poor Chuck. He's become his own protest. If you are a senior at Micky D's, the cost is $0.27 to $0.54 Yup, $0.25 plus tax here. But, as the coffee tastes like crap, it gets thrown out and the money was wasted anyway. Their new stuff, bolder, tastes like stronger crap. 7-11 coffee makes me pee, McD's coffee doesn't. Some Mickey D are normally Decaf. Have to ask for the regular coffee. Caffeine is a diuretic. Hmmm....I'll have to get a cup of both next time I fill up at the BP/Quickie Mart/McDonald's. |

If not, then why am I tired after walking 18 holes? |
