Gunner Clarification: A given percentage of any population will share certain characteristics. Certain dolts want to believe that illegal immigrants are made up of a higher percentage of *****VIOLENT CRIMINALS*****. These dolts have no information to back this up. But, in this way, this sample population is the same as any other. On the other hand..certain other dolts think that those criminals who have violated our laws by simply being here..and who use the border as a get out of jail free card..are equally as violent as the US population. Which is not true. Tell you what..how about providing cites to your claim that illegals are as violent as citizens. Say..per hundred thousand? Ill be waiting for your cites. With my own, both from the DOJ, the FBI and the Border Patrol , not to mention LA and San Diego Counties. Whenever you are ready..prove your claim. Gunner Rule #35 "That which does not kill you, has made a huge tactical error" Actually, I did look it up, Gunner. According to the DOJ's 2003 stats, there were 2084097 people in federal, state, and local detention The GAO says 304168 were illegals That's 14.6% considerably less than your 20-25%. As far as arrests; The GAO lists 21% of illegal alien offences were immigration related. Violent crimes (assault, robbery, sex offence, homicide and kidnapping) accounted for 11.5% of their offences. Roughly the same as the FBI's overall national rate for the same period. (note the GAO's numbers include prostitution with sex offenses and do not separate out the different classes of assault like the FBI stats do) In fact, if your 30,000,000 illegal population figure are correct, That works out to 290 violent crimes per 100000. Considerably less than the 476 national average. http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/03cius.htm http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d05646r.pdf http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/welcome.html Paul K. Dickman Check the stats for California. But thanks for the nice post. Now getting back to California again.... Gunner Rule #35 "That which does not kill you, has made a huge tactical error" |
