Hadn't heard from him for years and didn't know he was ill. Tom was a great guy. I met him a couple of times when he visited us several years ago, at our house and at the guitar shop. I remember the trick you two pulled on me when you were setting up the guitar shop. But I also remember the truck we pulled back in him too! Lol! |

We met up with him and his wife for dinner in Rhode Island on our first trip north with the Grand Banks. Tom's wife was very taken with the boat. He was a long time amateur radio operator (HAM, W1TEF), and could copy morse code in his head at amazing speeds. -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com |

Amazing how many distance contests he won using such low wattages |

Captain Tom Francis RIP
Thanks Harry for passing on the bad news. Tom was a great guy. Only one in the group that I actually met face to face. I'd like to offer my condolences to his family and friends.
I think back to all the squabbles we had with his little Connecticut buddy yet Tom always remained neutral...which I was glad for when we met in that isolated gravel turn around/parking area halfway along route 9 in the wilds of Maine. Wonder if Scott Ingersol is aware of the sad news? |
