It's interesting to observe which posters here continue with
personally

insulting other posters here.

Is there any good reason to refrain from insulting you and your ass
lick?

If anyone is keeping track of who's doing what to send the newsgroup
back down into the abyss... they should mark this comment on their
ledger.

I am watching with amusement.

Likewise.

No, you are participating. We are watching.

I find it amusing you are so obsessed with my wife. You bring her up

accomplishment.

Do you have a wife? If you do, I can't recall an occasion here in which

you discussed her or any of her accomplishments. What does she do or

what did she do during her career? How about children? Do you have

children? If so, what do they do for a living?

You seem awfully secretive about your life and your family, but awfully

eager to discuss the families of others.

Why is that?

There was a time you bragged about her a dozen or more times a day.

YOU provided the opportunity for others to irritate you by using

information you provide. Live with it, asshole. My family is none of

It's no irritation to me that you are so impressed with my wife's

No one is asking for *personal* information,

So you do not consider the information about a wife, her employment, children, their employment to

be personal information?

Hope you're having a spectacular day!

If memory serves, John, and it might not, I think you mentioned several

times that your wife was a federal employee, and that you have a son or

son in law in the military.

How *personal* is that?

Personal enough that you should not ask for the information and say you're not asking for anything

personal.

Do you find it revealing and ironic that there are posters here who go

out of their way to attempt to insult the spouses or children of other

posters, and yet are so secretive about their own spouses or children?

Faulty logic. If I tell you my son is drinking up all the beer in the house, and you say something

about his drinking habits, then you've opened the door. There is no requirement that anyone provide

personal information to you. I've provided personal information about my employment and been called

a rapist and baby killer - by you.

How many times over these many years has anyone here said anything nasty

about your spouse? I don't recall any such incidents.

Your recollection is poor.

*I* in fact have

over the years mentioned any number of times how nice and gracious your

wife was. Were you offended by that?

No. Why do you ask?

--

I don't think your "revelation" that your wife works or worked for the

government is particularly personal, or that your son in law is in the

military is particularly personal.

You brought up comments I've made about you, based upon your military

career. You've made plenty of disparaging remarks about other posters

here, including remarks about me.

Well, I did ask Don if he was a janitor based on his expertise with a johnny mop. Other than that, I believe you're bull****ting the troops again.

You've already been back to your "business as usual" here, as have
several of your buddies. I only mentioned it because sooner or later, I
figure you fellas will start whining about the atmosphere in here and
wonder how it got that way.

I don't really care how you fellas behave. If it is badly, I'll simply
stuff you all back in the bozo bin again.

Have a really super nice day.

Just for giggles I did that following Harry's absence during his recent
trip.

Upon his return I watched to see what direction the rec.boats newsgroup
would take. I even made a comment to you suggesting that you give him a
chance.

It hasn't been Harry driving the newsgroup back to it's pre-January
status of insults, name calling and general bull****.

It *has* been interesting watching him respond directly to his former
"Bozo Bin" occupants though.

Let's not go overboard. I think religion, guns, Palin, the military and
politics are fair discussion game for a misnamed discussion group like
this one, so long as the posts are not *personally* insulting or
derogatory to other posters here or attach references to the spouses or
kids, et cetera, of other posters.

A "troll," after all, is in the mind of the beholder.

You just hit upon the biggest problem in rec.boats. There is a fairly
large majority who will only accept viewpoints and discussions if they
happen to be consistent with what they believe. If you are at odds
with their scripture, you are an asshole, a raging liberal or worse.
