Horse hockey. It is offensive to Floridians and responsible gun
owners, and designed to be inflammatory. What a surprise.

Go back to the Indian Ocean and have another swim in its cool, blue
fecal waters while you are still a free man.

I'm sure that when rec.boats again deteriorates into its usual morass of
personal name-calling, you'll be among those who claim "others" are
responsible.

Texting Triggers Fatal Movie Theater Shooting

Jan. 13, 2014

An argument between two couples over text messaging inside of a Florida

movie theater turned deadly today that left one man dead and a woman

wounded.

Police said that two couples began arguing before a showing of "Lone

Survivor" over one couple's text messaging.

A male suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, became angry

and took out a gun and shot the other couple, according to the Pasco

County Sheriff's office.

"The victim was on his cellphone, he was texting. We believe he was

making some kind of noise. This noise led to an altercation," Sheriff

Chris Nocco said, according to ABC News affiliate WFTS. "During that

altercation, the suspect decided to pull out a .380 and he shoots the

victim."

The sheriff's office said in a statement that an unnamed "good

Samaritan" helped detain the suspect until police arrived.

The two victims were airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where the man

was pronounced dead and the woman is being treated for non-life

threatening injuries, according to police.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. today at the Cobb Grove 16

Theater in Wesley Chapel, Fla., north of Tampa.

Police noted that the shooter and victims did not appear to know one

another.

Well, that didn't take long. So much for the new, improved rec.boats.

All my restraint didn't help a bit, did it?

Do we have to give him yet another chance?

Perhaps you should take charge and publish a list of what topics are

allowed here and what topics are not. I thought there was general

agreement to avoid personal name-calling here, and to avoid initiating

partisan political discussions. The post I put up is neither personal

nor partisan political.

It's fine with me if you want this newsgroup to avoid discussions about

firearms and other apparently volatile subjects.

List away.

Well then it should be clear who ruined it for you, and why we all have
him filtered... rec.boats would not change a bit if you didn't answer
and repost his tripe... but hey, you got the right to support the
behavior if you wish.. it's a free country

I am astonished that a single shooting by a white guy draws so much attention, but the dozens of shootings in Chicago or Detroit draw none.

Gosh, I didn't know the Florida movie shooter was white. Why is that
relevant?

John is merely getting you to raise your hackles. Or in other words,
bait you. You are so eager to jump on any bait, fishing for you is no
longer a challenge. Yet it is so satisfying to irritate and insult
assholes such as yourself.

Oh, well, apparently John needs better bait. I hope he's not upset about
his inabilities as a fisherman. Oh, and neither you, nor Herring, nor
Wayne nor anyone else here is going to "raise my hackles."
All you are doing, really, is demonstrating your inabilities to behave
decently.

Have nice day.
