In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded and ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks. So, I gather you didn't do as well in academia as my daughter in her first year of her chosen profession.. thanks... and being on a team means **** if you spent your time handing out towels.... Really? I have earned degrees from two major universities. Oh, and it was the team manager who took care of the towels. I swam butterfly and breaststoke, individually and on relay teams. And since she is a pro, what have her racing purses amounted to? In my first year as a professional writer for a major newspaper, my senior year of college (I was a full-time student and worked full time on the morning newspaper), I earned about $10,000 in salary, and this was back in the mid 1960's, as a reporter. Not much these days, but back then, respectable. Oh, and her first year racing in an east coast series, 21 races, she finished on the podium with an overall third in the division in a field of 20 + girls who were regular racers of the division...... How did you do in high school again?? I did great in high school, and college. So, what was her income? None of your business. Odd, I've looked and looked at pro motocross rankings and income over the last couple of days, and there is no mention of her. Next you'll be telling us she races under a pseudonym, except you don't know what it means. Really, I am truly shocked that a parent would actually steer their kid away from an education. I'm sure you'd see it all the time in music and show business. People trying to get rich off their kids natural talents. |

I was truly shocked when you were down the street drinking and your kid almost got crippled for life, and even more shocked when you got drunk, left the grill going on your porch and nearly burned her out of her bed... |
