An interesting parallel story to this. Our congress just
made it
illegal to unlock a phone.
Is you buy a phone locked to X service, it is illegal for

them to set it free, even after your contract expires

So, harry is a crook... I told you so.

Not for this, Unlocking a phone is different than just
cracking into
the operating system and removing Apple's monopoly enforcer.

Jailbreaking a phone or, as you put it, "just cracking into
the operating system and removing Apple's monopoly enforcer,"
isn't
illegal, either, although your description of the process is a bit
"underdetailed," if you will. What jailbreaking does is open up a
closed
OS.

You are tampering with Apple's operating system and violating
the TOS
you agreed to when you started using the phone. Just another
example of
how low life operates. Lower than whale ****, you are.

You crack a phone to steal services. Folks steal services on line
all
the time, it's why we have spent so much money on spam over the
years.
Folks like harry think they are somehow entitled to that which
belongs
to others, so they steal it. Harry Krause, is a crook...

You stupid little twit!!! It's been explained to you over and over
again
and you are just too stupid or dense or both to understand the
simplest
of things.

If you and or one of your buddies explains it, I don't read it, I read
long enough to figure out it's one of you, and I skip to the next
post.... The folks here who are worth reading, agree with me..

You mean, tech morons like Herring and Meyer?

snerk

I can't speak for John but I've forgotten more tech stuff than you ever
even thought you knew. Stick to what you know dummy. You are a pretty
good spella when you put your mind to it.

Well then what do you make of this nonsense with Scotty that the reason
for Jailbreak is to do something illegal?

If "Meyer" is a tech maven, there's no evidence of it here, either with
today's or yesterday's tech.

Oh Krausie, yes there is but you are too ignorant to know.

Slobber in the gym? Is that a modern age exercise regimen?

Speaking of "competitive", and you are always asking about our
competitiveness, how "competitive" were you in high school, a "sport"
you suggested your parents drilled you in all of your life, and you
certainly put a lot more time and effort into than my girl ever
did in
motocross... Among her peers last year in a National Amateur event,
she
took 8th place... how did you stack up against the competition in
High
School, I suppose you must have been Valedictorian or close with all
the
time and resources your parents put into you... or did they fail
miserably.. So, how successful were your parents in the path they
chose
for you? Just doesn't make sense for someone like yourself who must
have
been at the top of your game, to go to school in bum**** Kansas...
What's up with that?

In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly
and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary
magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded
and
ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly
screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks.

So, I gather you didn't do as well in academia as my daughter in her
first year of her chosen profession.. thanks... and being on a team
means **** if you spent your time handing out towels....

Really? I have earned degrees from two major universities. Oh, and it
was the team manager who took care of the towels. I swam butterfly and
breaststoke, individually and on relay teams.

Oh, and last year wasn't your kid's first year in motorbike racing.
You've been talking about it here for years and years. And 8th in a race
is no big deal. What's her overall national standing? And since she is a
pro, what have her racing purses amounted to? In my first year as a
professional writer for a major newspaper, my senior year of college (I
was a full-time student and worked full time on the morning newspaper),
I earned about $10,000 in salary, and this was back in the mid 1960's,
as a reporter. Not much these days, but back then, respectable.

8th in a national series is pretty good, first time out... how did you
rank in your graduating class. Top ten, if not, you got nothing to say
to my kid...

You're comparing an eighth place in a motorbike race to a class
standing? No wonder you never got anywhere.

Ok, so you sucked in school, ok... based on your college of choice, I
doubt your high school records and grades would equal any of my three
girls.. Including Jess, who graduated early with a strong b average...

ANY college is better than none. So, what did you tell them, that
college isn't important?

The word you want is "whether," not "weather." Had you gotten an
education, you might have known the difference between the two words.

My parents steered me towards being able to think for myself and thus
stressed reading, writing, science, music, art, and having fun. My goal
back then was to get a good education, not a job. It wasn't until my
third year of college that I had what might be called a "career" goal of
becoming a professional writer. Funny thing is, the spring of my junior
year, when I was hired by the Kansas City Star to start working that
summer, I was one of three new reporters hired, and there were more than
a thousand applicants from all around the country. I know that, because
the day the managing editor hired me, he took me to the board room and
showed me the enormous stacks of resumes, and said the count was more
than a thousand.

Hell, I never even gave him a resume. I didn't have one back then. He
hired me the night before at a journalism society party at which
everyone got smashed. Wasn't until a year later that I learned he had
"scouted" me at the party at the suggestion of one of my professors, who
was an adviser to the newspaper's editorial board.

So, how did your parents help you reach your goals?

BTW, what's the racing queen doing in the off-season now that she's
out
of high school and not in college?

Slobber in the gym, eat good, tweak, tweak, tweak the bike, took on two
new sponsors, and she is working with me as the lesion between the
Professional Athletes we represent (5 pro teams, along with several top
ranked amateurs) on a project that is quickly gaining ground and
sponsors... stay tuned...

Slobber in the gym? Is that a modern age exercise regimen?

Speaking of "competitive", and you are always asking about our
competitiveness, how "competitive" were you in high school, a "sport"
you suggested your parents drilled you in all of your life, and you
certainly put a lot more time and effort into than my girl ever did in
motocross... Among her peers last year in a National Amateur event, she
took 8th place... how did you stack up against the competition in High
School, I suppose you must have been Valedictorian or close with all
the
time and resources your parents put into you... or did they fail
miserably.. So, how successful were your parents in the path they chose
for you? Just doesn't make sense for someone like yourself who must
have
been at the top of your game, to go to school in bum**** Kansas...
What's up with that?

In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly
and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary
magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded and
ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly
screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks.

Oh, and her first year racing in an east coast series, 21 races, she
finished on the podium with an overall third in the division in a field
of 20 + girls who were regular racers of the division...... How did you
do in high school again??

I did great in high school, and college. So, what was her income?

None of your business.
