In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly
and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary
magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded and
ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly
screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks.

I also played on Little League, Babe Ruth League and Industrial League
baseball teams in the spring and summer, and the latter league was
semi-pro. I played third base and second base and always had a high
batting average. I wasn't valedictorian, but I was a National Merit
Scholarship finalist.

I also dated some absolutely terrific gals while I was in high school,
and I still have several dozen really close friends, male and female,
from those days, some of whom are still in the general New Haven area.
We have a "reunion" at Milford or Branford at least once a year. Looks
like it will be Milford this year, though, since I am not local, I am
not on the planning committee, so I don't know for sure. Last year, we
actually had a bus tour of New Haven's famous pizza joints, and I have
the tee-shirt to show for it.

Oh, my mother taught me to read when I was three years old. In
kindergarten, I was getting into a bit of trouble, nothing serious,
because I was bored. I was "tested" in the first grade and found to be
reading at the 12th grade level, and I knew my multiplication tables
through the twelves. I had an "adult" library card in the third grade,
though the local librarian didn't allow me to check out "sexy" books,
but I wasn't reading the Hardy Boys series.

My parents did not choose a path for me, other than to stress the
importance of reading, writing, and the ability to think. My mom was a
voracious reader, and active in local Republican party politics. She
never graduated from college. My dad, however, was a college graduate,
and a master of many and diverse skills, but was apolitical.

That is what I was going for but I tried not to get too technical.

I don't have a smart phone and I don't carry a dumb phone most of the

We have a tech support rule here. If it fits in your purse or pocket
she handles it, if it is a desktop or lap top I do it. Friends, family

Nitrous. It provides a legal way for third party browsers, such as
Chrome or Atomic Browser, to access the Nitro javascript engine. Worth
every penny of the ninety-nine cents it cost.
