Poor products don't deserve support, no matter where they're made. It's likely those German screwdrivers, as well as your car, was made by unionized workers. In Europe, that usually means the workers are paid decently, with good benefits. In the U.S., for the most part, assembly line jobs are shipped to third world countries where the workers are exploited. I hope the U.S. auto industry recovers. Unfortunately, many of the new unionized workers at U.S. auto plants have been "tiered," in that they will never make much more than subsistence wages, with greatly reduced benefits. I'm going to have to buy another computer printer shortly. The best I can hope for is that it won't be made in communist china or communist vietnam. Oh, and the new country we created - Iraq - is cracking down on its unionized workers, and these are workers in government-controlled unions. We've got quite accomplishment in Iraq. We ought to rename it the Bush-Cheney Abortion. |

You don't hire because there's no demand for your product. And if demand is there and you don't fill it, a Chinaman or Indian or some other foreigner will step right in and clean your clock. American business didn't need American labor, now America doesn't need American business. Getting tired of these American "businessmen" who don't want to do business. Biggest crybabies in the country, just looking for gov handouts. Spoiled all to hell. We don't need them. Time to get some hardworking Chinamen and Indians imported in here to run the businesses so Americans have jobs. Hell, maybe some Mexican businessmen too. They know the meaning of hard work and how to get things done. What good are you to America? Spoiled brat whining about politics all the time. Crying you won't hire, crying you'll sell your "business" to foreigners. Looking for a handout. Not worth a dime. You ain't no damned businessman. Real businessmen produce and expand and get things done. They have products and services that people clamor for. Looks like you have none of that. I knew Henry Ford, Henry Ford was a friend of mine, and you Frogwatch, are no Henry Ford. All you wannabe "businessmen" are in for it, just like everybody else. The gravy train has done gone by. ![]() "Harry ?" wrote in message ... "nom=de=plume" wrote in message ... "Frogwatch" wrote in message ... I was asked last night by someone, when my company would begin to hire again. I told him I was waiting for a sign. Obviously asked "What kind of sign" so I told him. The sight of lamposts on the DC mall bending under the weight of Maxine Waters, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Rangel, Jefferson, Barney Frank, Obama ,etc. AND even that will not do. Now, I also want to see Ezra Klein and the rest of the JournOlisters heads on pikes in front of media outlets as a warning that the people will not settle for made-up "news" anymore. The 2010 elections will not do as we have no faith in them anymore. There are millions of small businesses run by people like me and they are even angrier than me. Employment WILL NOT improve until we are no longer angry. Will there be blood? I dunno but this verse from as far back as 1854 may be applicable: From the New York Tribune in 1854, and the American Anti-Slavery Society, is it applicable today? THE AMERICAN FLAG All hail the flaunting lie! The stars look pale and dim; The stripes are bloody scars-- A lie the vaunting hymn! It shields a pirate's deck! It binds a man in chains! It yokes the captive's neck, And wipes the bloody stains! Tear down the flaunting lie; Half-mast the starry flag; Insult no sunny sky With hate's polluted rag! Destroy it, ye who can; Deep sink it in the waves! It bears a fellow man, To groan with fellow slaves! Furl, furl the boasted lie! Till freedom lives again, To rule once more in truth, Among untrammeled men! Roll up the starry sheen, Conceal its bloody stains, For in its folds are seen The stamp of rustling chains! So, I do not choose to support Demoslavery and neither do millions of other small businessmen who would otherwise be hiring. You're a moron. Your vocabulary of salutations is extremely limited, indicating that you haven't been properly educated. Your stupid spoofing indicates that you're a moron. I doubt the education system could have helped much. Ouch... that's gotta hurt. Sorry! |

Why do you buy off-shore screwdrivers vs. buying US screwdrivers? Well, he couldn't have made his point then, could he? Why would "hiring" have anything to do with you? You're unemployed and unemployable. I hire Americans and pay American wages and taxes. I wouldn't hire offshore even if it made my company more competitive. Ask my brother about the benefits package he gives his employees. He described it to us some time ago when his business was expanding. It wasn't good or great, it was un****ingbelievable. He was so proud. I'm sure he would be happy to restate it here on rec.boats. |
