Just had a good show during lunch at a Bayou Chico (Pensacola) waterfront bar on Thursday. A 19' or so bowrider coming up to the dock at the marina next door and the little lady is trying to lasso a cleat on the floating dock with the bowline. She's unsuccessfull so the Mr comes to the rescue? with the boat moving 2-3 knots on it's own, no current or tide. When he finally loops a cleat after about 20 feet of dock rubbing, he nearly gets his ass yanked off the boat. Boats may not have brakes but they do have reverse. Another, this time one of those 50' +/- drug dealer looking go-fast boats. This guy is backing into a slip and ends up diagonal across about 3 (empty) slips, still traveling in reverse at a good clip when he bangs that big toy's port transome into a piling. Ouch! |
