When I get the boat I'll be looking at laptops. Don't know much about Macs. When I worked IT at McDonalds marketing they were using Macs, but they got pushed off them. It was a pain converting data back and forth. People get attached to the tech they're using, much like they get attached to car brands. Don't know how many times I heard crap from Mac fans about how MS "stole" stuff from the Mac OS. Recycle bin for one. Think MACs were a better bet for college kids when the OS was more reliable than Win9x. But after XP came along that edge became less. Still got one of my girls a Mac laptop for university when she did an overseas program, because that's what she wanted and she said the school folks recommended it. No sense fighting hall there. A company I worked for in the early '90s had Macs for desktops because you could due native 68000 development on them. It was nice to be able to write a document and develop code for 680X0 processors on the same system. Since Mac went to the Intel side there really is no advantage. in either OS. Both MacOS (UNIX) and Windows are now 20+ years old and the OSes are mature enough to not be crashing all of the time. The real issue between Mac and PCs is cost of hardware and cost software. With a small organization you may be able to justify the Macs but with a large organizaitons you can get much better deals with PCs. |

A. There's no evidence that you are Jewish, not that it matters to me. Your saying so means nothing. The only attribute of yours I know exists for certain is your cowardice, and that is boundless. If you were a Jew, it would only be an accident of birth, and you would only be a cultural Jew because you were posting here last night and you posting here today. Someone genuinely Jewish would be observing the Sabbath, I know, if I was real Jew, I and the majority of other Jews who drive to temple would walk. We would never cook on the Sabbath, we would never turn on a light switch. Those of us who live in a high rise, would always walk up the stairs, because we can not push an elevator button. We are very lucky to have you here to tell us who are real Jews and who isn't. Also, and perhaps this is reverse anti-Semitism, but all of the Jews I know, and I know a lot of Jews, are very intelligent and accomplished. You don't fit into either category. I know I am not a intellectual giant as you are, I graduated from Columbia, you went to that renowned liberal arts college, the Univ. of Kansas. It is nice to see you don't believe in stereotypes, I am sure we will hear other words of wisdom from you as Black people sure can dance, but they can't balance of a checkbook, Asians are great in math and science, but don't let them drive etc. D. No, I am *not" discussing my personal religious beliefs here. For someone who enjoys telling Christians and Jews they don't live up to your standard of their religion, that sounds very cowardly of you. I do happen to know Observant Jews, they are friends of mind, Why does this remind me of that old expression once would hear from racists "some of my best friends are black", just before they spew some racist comment. Next you will be defining what it means to be black and telling blacks they are not black enough, because they don't meet your standard of blackness. |

I hope you'll answer my question about this in the other thread, or here. Who is proclaiming their religious beliefs the loudest? And, does your behavior indicate you 'walk the walk' of your religious beliefs? -- Salmonbait |

What I thought was funny, was I made some comment in jest about all of the commercial Christmas music you hear and that there are so few Chanukah songs. That is when Harry decided it was time to point out that I didn't appreciate my Jewish prayers well enough. Then my joke about Jews eating at Chinese restaurants on Christmas was another reason for him to chastise me for not being Jewish enough. Real Jews would never eat out, because restaurants don't not keep a Kosher kitchen. At no time was I proclaim my religion, I was making a tongue in cheek joke. Have you noticed the person who sets the standards for all Christians and Jews is too much of a coward to mention his religious beliefs. |

You have often professed an interest in the teachings of Buddha and may possibly be a follower of the Dali Lama. You actions of constantly mocking and judging other beliefs is contrary to Buddhism and the teachings of the Dali Lama. |
