Garuda

Please visit the link provided which directs you to the actually
document sign into LAW by Resident Bush and tell me which paragraph
contains the phrases:

Probable Cause

or

Intent.

It simply isn't there Garuda. You can attempt to minimize your concern
by assuming it's there if it helps you to sleep at night, but you would
be making a VERY incorrect assumption, Garuda.

Doesn't that scare the crap out of you?

Think hard before answering Garuda...

OH my, somewhat paranoid aren't you Marley. If
you don't agree with our laws, during wartime,
take your chances and do as you wish. Personally,
I've seen Cuba and have found other areas to be
much more enjoyable. Only people with thoughts
like you scare the crap out of me. By the way, I
don't make assumptions, I act on personal desires
and visiting Cuba again or reading your nonsense is
something I find to be boring.
If you want to see Cuba go, but quit whining about our laws.

Garuda

Why are you changing the subject that YOU STARTED Garuda? Let me remind
you.

You chastized me for not understanding:

"the meaning of the word "intent" or probable cause."

I correctly pointed out that the words INTENT and PROBABLE CAUSE are NOT
a part of the law Resident Bush passed last February.

In my opinion, your response is a lame attempt at pushing your head
FURTHER up your ass. Ignorance truly IS bliss, isn't it Garuda? Whatsa
matter...suddenly feeling like your post was foolish?

Here, read the law right off of the white house web site, and find the
intent/probably cause portion.

As an aside, Cuba is a beautiful tropical paradise. Truly a gorgeous
country, and the people are wonderflly warm and quite delightful.

You are wasting your time and effort on guys/girls like Dave and Garuda
and few others for whom constitutional rights have become inconvenient
impediments that are only situationally relevant. Egged on by airheads
like Anne Coulter and boneheads like Bill Oreilly who cheerlead for the
idiot Bush, they seem oblivious to the fact that this beautiful
democracy is being ripped out from under them by a bunch of
neo-conservative fascists. Don't think like they do and support Bush?
Then you are an "enemy of America" according to Coulter. Reading the
lines posted by guys like Dave and Garuda is a frightening glimpse into
the minds of those who were in Benjamin Franklin's mind when he wrote
about those who deserve neither freedom nor liberty. However Franklin's
words would be dismissed by the neo-con thinker Coulter as having come
from one who must have been an ancestor of today's 'looney left' who
according to Coulter "hates America more than Al Qaeda". And why?
Because their fellow American citizens DARE to exercise their
constitutional right to disagree with the policies of the current
administration.

Think about that. There are people in positions of influence and power
right now in the USA who seriously consider that anyone who didn't
support Bush might be someone who is disloyal to their nation. There
have been a handful of countries who have passed laws that have
suspended the civil and constitutional rights of it's citizens similar
to those on the books in the US now and none of those countries have
been allies of the US. In fact, the US has been at war, either hot or
cold with some of these states throughout the 20th century.

America is in _serious_ trouble right now, and as far as this outside
observer can tell, the threat is from within.

Keep posting relevant info like this Marley and try not to be too
discouraged or distracted when the pearls get spat back out.

Prodigal1

Thank you for your kind, heartfelt, and most of all LITERATE and
intelligent post.

I do realize that there are a LOT of people out there who are more
concerned with "being right" than with seeing the truth as it clearly
unfolds before them. Sometimes their stark denial in the face of the
obvious is startling. Take this evil bit of law GWB enacted. EVERYONE
can read it and (hopefully) comprehend the text. Yet some choose to read
it, and reinterpret it in a way that fits with their need to feel secure
or to "be right". In some ways it's fascinating to watch those people
deny basic facts like those portrayed so starkly through this
incredibly intrusive and repressive law. Even more impressive is the
attitude...and the extent to which these people will go to deny that
which is so painfully and glaringly obvious. At their level, it's not
about intellect or reason, it's about emotion. You can't help them, and
neither can I. I TRULY can do nothing more than pity them. Honestly
that's true.

None the less, I do believe that speaking out is important. It helps to
focus reality for those sad sacks who are so unable to overcome their
emotional baggage, and also allows like minded people (people who simply
see and accept reality for what it is) to share and to reinforce their
observations in a public forum, where maybe...just maybe their insights
can make a difference.

I truly do pity those people who have invested SO much of themselves in
denial and in defending "their positions" whilst ignoring their own plight.

I do appreciate your well written and heartfelt reply. Don't worry, the
stupidity and ignorance from those few hopeless causes doesn't
discourage me in any way.

I've always believed that Ignorance is temporary, but Stupidity is forever.

Each one of those who argues relentlessly with the FACTS as clearly
offered at the white house web site

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea...040226-11.html

has a clear choice between three options:

- Understand the words that they read in respect to the law as written.
- remain ignorant through denial.
- or just plain stay stupid.

Those that choose ignorance can possibly come to see reality given
enough opportunity. Maybe our posts can help.

Those who choose stupidity are beyond hope. My post was not directed at
the stupid ones because they are beyond hope. Hence, their responses
don't trouble me a bit. They made their choice to stay stupid.

I am very sorry that your country's fledgling democracy (after all it's
only just over 200 years old) is imploding. Sadly that is the most
common affect of rampant greed when coupled with a nearly sociopathic
lack of morals. Such is the Residency of GWB and his gang of thieves
(like Halliburton and their ilk.)

As an aside, for those who wonder why America is being "targeted" here's
a very informative link. After reading through the material, I verified
much of the data provided. http://www.ifamericansknew.org

Thanks again, Prodigal1

Only a complete (And I do complete) moron would call the United States a
democracy. It never was, was never intended to be, and never will be.
Those of you that love to quote Benjamin Franklin should read his quote
about a democracy.

Without sounding too boring, I have read the proclamation and find
nothing that poses any threat to those that have boats and use them for
legitimate purposes.

The issue raised about people having differing views is of interest. To
wit those that did not vote for bush must be anti-american.

This reminds me of Margaret Thatcher in the UK - who thought that the
people were the enemy of the state. Her view was that those that did not
support her views - they must be the real enemy. The UK and the USA were
Allies at the time. We still politics change but we still like eachother
more or less

Here in the UK we have the right to board any vessel to inspect the crew
and cargo - and do so - as a matter of course to ensure that such
vessels, the crew and cargo are not a threat to the interests of the UK
and that of any other nation state. Such vessels includes any vessel at
sea, land or air capable of moving goods and people. It's called "common
sense protection."

We Brits don't see this as a major threat to our civil liberties but
rather as a means of protection - as best we can under the restrictive
practices of the European Union which tends to try and stop us from
controlling our borders and the movement of goods, people and vessels.

No state can monitor one's internal thoughts but can act if they think
your outward actions pose a threat to security of the nation state. This
has been common practice for all states for thousands of years and thus
is not new.

What might be thought "new" - is the idea that the state can read your
internal thoughts - most with those views are either in some kind of
therepy or are in need of it.

Margaret Thatcher's downfull started when she showed signs of madness -
that she was right and every one else was wrong - and that ultimate
madness that the people are the enemy of the state. Even the
Conservative Party realised that she was losing her grip on reality -
they voted against her and the people in a general election voted that
party out of office.

Regards,

David
