Default DEALS on Sails for ASA'ers

North settled on delamination claims, Gilligan. They couldn't go to
trial. Try a google search on the 3DL problems. Now try to imagine that
no one sued. My friend did. His 3DL didn't even last a single season
before delaminating.
Want direct proof? E-mail me and I'll put you in contact with him.

When I googled all I got was a lot of praise for 3DL, along with some
comments that there were problems early on that were quickly fixed.
There were also comments about how the factory is backordered due to
high demand. And there was the thing about how North said they didn't
think 3DL was appropriate for the bulk order for J44 jibs because they
wouldn't last 5 years in hard service. They advised paneled kevlar.

You're turning into jaxie, making vague allegations, then claiming you
don't have time to provide a link.

If found the 3DL sails received exceptional praise - universally.

No lawsuits over delamination.

Try yahoo and you'll find delamination complaints even in 2005. It's my
belief (and several others) that 3DL has problems when sails are
subjected to temp. changes. I even found a thread with Sloco and a guy
who spent a lot on his 3DL's and ended up switching lofts.

Perhaps you'll be so kind as to provide those links. My version of
Yahoo doesn't seem to show any problems.
