How about bridge jumpers? Bet they change their mind about 1/2 way

I've done that, but I have super powers.

Well, a few years back, on my way home from Annapolis, a girl jumped
off the Bay Bridge as I was sailing towards it about 1/4 mile away.
CG radioed for all mariners to be on lookout for the body. They
spotted her with their helo later.

Sorry, I didn't realize I had to spell this out for you.

Now repeat after me:

Fewer guns, fewer suicides.

Jeff, what's your point?

In Massachusetts, we have the toughest gun laws in the country. We

also

have the lowest gun death rate (by a large margin) in the country.

We

also have one of the lowest suicide rates in the country, about 60%

of

the national average.

There ya go, you made my point.
With cars, pills you do get a chance to call for help.

You can call for help after you die from car exhaust? I didn't

know

that.

Nope, but you sure as hell can before the gas gets you.

Scooter, back when, I attended a whole bunch of suicides, in

plenty

of

them there were signs that the person had changed their mind and
unsuccessfully tried to call for help.
You know, things like, the phone knocked over, signs that they'd

tried

to crawl to the door, etc, and many others where they had managed

to

call, but help arrived too late.

Never seen that in a gunshot suicide.

So you're agreeing with me that gun owners are more likely to kill their
own family members.

Jeff... why in the world would you propose to cause a line up at the
check-out counter? You said fewer suicides... not murders. Disarming the
civilian population is no remedy for crime. I speak from experience here in
Canada, it's ridiculously expensive, time consuming and has effectively
increased the smuggling profits. Only the criminals & cops have weapons now.
The cops are only a follow up after the incident and the criminals are more
brazen due to the gun control legislation.

Do not go down the road of gun control..... it's merely another step in the
direction to strip you of your rights.

So, you are willing to exchange lower suicides for drastically increased violent
crimes against individuals?

What a stupid liberal fool with the usual head-up-the-ass syndrome!

Neal, you're a complete PUTZ! By your own study, Massachusetts has
substantially lowers rates for almost all forms of crime than the
national average. The murder rate is about 40% of the national average.
The overall "crime index" was 42nd in the country.

The the most recent studies, MA is cited as the "safest state in the
country." My hometown is cited as "The safest city in the country"!

I suppose. Showing your blunders is getting pretty boring. When you
get something right, that would be exciting.

You saw the crime rate stats for Mass and they proved that banning guns
had no effect unless the gun ban was put in, in 1995 which it wasn't.
