Like I said, you need a national law to cover this.

The two permit held by this bodyguard, allow this individual
to carry a permit in a total of 30 states, but not New York.

New York is one of the "NAZI" gun states that deny individuals
the right to protect themselves, unless they are rich liberal

politicians.

This person was declaring it because he could not get it through
airport security. Even in checked baggage, it must be declared.

In New York, this will get you arrested, even if you are merely
changing planes passing through, without leaving the airport.

Only thing the guard did wrong was not have a licence to carry a
pistol in that state.

He declared it at checkin so was obviously unaware that he was in
breach.....Ya don't need to be smart to carry a gun.

Seems you need to look at national laws to cover this.

No National permit, each State has it's own laws, but if you are
licences in one State, you are permitted to carry your weapon in
another on a temporary/visitor status.
A pistol licence is extremely hard to obtain and for most purposes you
need to be in the security or protection industries to carry a pistol,
and even then it almost invariable cannot be concealed.
Sport shooters are allowed a pistol, but it must be locked up in the
licenced pistol club at all times other than when travelling to and
from a shooting range.

Then again, we only have 6 states to fall into line.

Your logic:
It's the guns, not the act. Outlaw guns and gun crimes disappear!

Ahhh yes, the simple logic of a simpleton.
Tell me Bob, why do you feel you need a gun to protect yourself?
Could it be taht you like the idea of equal force?

Tell you what, take the guns out of the equation and substitute
words/abuse.
Guess what, words don't kill.

Now replace "guns" with liquor.

Hmmm liquor doesn't kill either, well at not instantly.

Next you be smashing printing presses.

No, not at all.
You need the press to publicise the fact that there are 30,000 gun
deaths in the US each year, and only 45,000 motor vehicle deaths.
Consider that motor vehicles are used each day by most people and, if
you're a thinking person, see the point.

We once fought a war over state's rights. Such a law would probably
stimulate another civil war. g

Didn't the side that wanted to more freedom win?
Surely freedom to carry a weapon interstate is a basic American right
;-)

No, actually the exact opposite. The Confederate States was the ultimate
states-rights organization.

State rights is one thing, freedom of the people is different I think.

The point is, we should outlaw cars. Riiiiight.

SV

Hey, ya got two choices here, you could show the real value of guns by
forcing people to carry one every time they went for a drive...pretty
soon, congestion on the roads would be non existent.....and no-one
would need to buy those stick on bullet holes anymore......do they
sell them in the US or do they just have the real thing :-)

Hey, we have "shall issue" laws in Michigan. The cops were dead set against
it, so far, AFAIK, there have been no incidents with individuals CCWing,
cross your fingers.

Bull****. Bull****. Bull****. There's about 3,000 gun accidents

each year. Why don't we outlaw bicycles?

You do realize that the "statistics" in this article are bogus? Of
course you do, yet you keep posting them.

The crime rates are actually lower in Australia, and for the most part
were unchanged by the gun laws. Robbery, however, did decrease. Was
this because of the law?
