Default 'Merican Beer...

Okay... I decided to take the advise and try Samuel Adams Beer.... so off
I went to the specialty beer store.... nope ... they don't stock it.. no
requests. They told me to try the local provincial Liquor Store. There I am
in the Import Beer section... there are shelves and shelves of brews...
labeled by region and country. Mexican, European, British, Brazilian,
Australian etc.... I mean most everybody and nation on the planet was
there..... guess which one was conspicuous in their absence.... you got
it... the USA!!!

So I asked the manager if they had any American Beer.... He started
laughing out loud! I kept looking at him in all seriousness... this
caused a pregnant pause and a reply of .... "Oh! you're Serious??"

I explained to him that I had been referred to try this brew by some Yankees
who had enough of me slagging their brewing abilities. He looked at me
sternly and replied... " Well you tell those good ole boys we had a shelf of
American Beers.... Samuel Adams included... we sold 3 six packs and the
rest went stale on the shelf..... So we dumped the lot and refused to
order anymore until they learn to brew decent beer" Well... we both had a
good laugh and I still haven't found that Samuel Adams that they couldn't
pawn off to the drunks up here.... even on a half price sale???

What's Up with Dat???

Why bother sending it to Canada when yuppies line up for it down here?

BTW the fact that it didn't sell doesn't mean it's bad... just that
nobody who walked into the store knew what it was.

If you're bragging about your choice of beer, is it because you don't
have anything else worthy of mention in your life?

BTW - Samuel Adams advertises here because we get most of your TV
channels..... nobody knows about Belgian Beer... but the local Private
Outlet authorized to import it is consistently sold out... why is that???

Let me explain it to you.... you guys know **** when it comes to beer!
That's why!

Well, it it makes you feel better....

Did it ever occur to you that your opinion of a particular beer (or
anything else) doesn't change what it is?

Did it also ever occur to you that you have no clue what my choice of
drink is, yet you feel some emotional need to diss it? What's up with that?

A Belgian once took me to a pub in Antwerp which sold every brand that was
brewed in Belgium - 1,100 different beers IIRC!
He ordered the strongest for me. It was like syrup. For our second
drink, I requested the weakest.

Weak beer is real beer. Beer is supposed to be weak.

I say the stronger the beer a man drinks the smaller
or more dysfunctional his penis. Women can't abide
him so he drowns his sorrows in strong beer.

Beer is meant to be drunk in mass quantities. One
should be able to chug a pint on a hot summer afternoon
and then sit and enjoy sipping a second or a third pint
to quench a mighty thirst. The idea is not to get drunk
doing it. The world has too many sots as it is . . .

That is the very nature of beer - mass quantities of
flavor without the drunk factor.

Excellent point. I hate that dark crap. I don't like being drunk either.
Capt Neal, you are very civilized! God bless you!

Amen!
