How many folks have lightning "proofed" their boat?.

I've already had one boat hit by lightning so I don't have to worry about it
anymore.

That theory doesn't work...lightning does strike the same place twice, three
times, four times...our former peach tree is the now non-living truth....

Did you make your own modifications or buy a package? What systems are
better than others?
Have you ever been hit?
Scout

I've been hit twice. Its a steel hull and nothing was damaged. My
next slip neighbor got hit last summer and it melted every wire and
electronic instrument he had on his boat. If you want to be protected
buy a steel hull. Im thinking on getting one of those ion dispersers
they use on oil tanks, not sure if they work but I know a guy who said
he would give me one free so what the heck.
