The Craft system gave way to the Guild system when advancing technology made
crafts to difficult for one to learn on his own. Then the Guild system
morphed into capitalism when advancing technology made tools too expensive
for individual craftsmen to own. And advancing technology has been eating
away at Capitalism for nearly a century. Automation gradually replaces the
workers who both create and consume products, but what happens when
automation replaces them all? They cannot buy without wages and there can be
no profits without sales; so capitalism will collapse. Question is, what
will replace it? Socialism? Communism? Something new? The only thing
that's certain is that automation will bit by bit destroy our existing
system. Even burger-flipping will get automated. Then what will all the MBAs
do?

???

Is this JaxHistory?

Not even close. Capitalism has been around longer than the guilds, in
fact the medieval guilds (some of which are properly referred to as
Craft Guilds) were a reaction to the tendency of bankers & moneylenders
to control their trades.

... And advancing technology has been eating
away at Capitalism for nearly a century.

And this automation, which I assume you refer to above as "advancing
technology" is so advanced that it pays for itself? In general,
increasing technology requires greater concentrations of capital.

When do you think this will happen? What sort of groceries should I
stock up on?

... Question is, what
will replace it?

No, the question is where do you get this stuff.

.... Even burger-flipping will get automated. Then what will all the MBAs
do?

Same thing they do now... have big circle-jerk meetings and rob Peter to
pay Paul.
