I'm sure your kids will do fine, given your background and your commitment to helping them. Much of what is done within the education system are attempts to compensate for that which was never there to begin with: good parents and a nurturing home. Hey! The neighborhood kids and our kids' former classmates are all back in school now; so it's roadtrip time for us. Given our restricted ability to connect to the net while on the road, I'll be reading this ng even less frequently than usual, which means I'll probably only post about twice a year. Anyway, I understand your positions and arguments and I generally support the public school system here in the U.S. Like I said, I was impressed (and mostly happy) with the processes and resources available to our kids. But travel, a teacher/student ratio of 1/1, and an "open" curriculum is just ever so much more fun. For all of us. Frank - heading South for the Winter |
