Excuse Me Bob but....

I'm overjoyed to see that you at least absorb the basics of common sense....
since your other abilities seem to fall short of the mark.

Ah, see now, even when someone asks for help, one gets
a half-ass reply.

FYI, we all have wants that exceed our limitations, or at least
we should.

Yes Jonathan.... but now you have to be able to understand that your wants
exceed your abilities. Your best course now lies in reveling in the
innocence and security of your ignorance and merrily keep posting replies

in
a manner that amuses you. Every court needs a jester and every town needs

a
dunce.... it provides others with an easily achievable bench mark. Go
get'em Ganz........

Thx Taddy.... this reply from Jon did not appear. Excuse me while I tend
to wayward Jon's queries yet again... it is indeed a thankless task.

My reply is based on the value of the question and the merit of the
inquirer. In regards to your request.... The question reeked of sarcasm and
the inquirer took pride in his ignorance.

The difference Jon is that without effort limitations become barriers not
obstacles.

Excuse Me Bob but....

He says he likes backing up to balls 'cos they are slimy. He doesn't
make clear if they are slimy before or after he has backed up to them
but I assume the latter as I'm sure he would not want any rent buoy
after use....

:-P

Excuse Me Bob but....

Of course it's easy. You stand up on the bow with the
boat hook and pick up the mooring while your husband
does all the helmsmanship required to make it easy for
you.

Try picking up a mooring single-handed under sail in a
crowed mooring field and you will then be a real sailor
like me. One of my favorite ways is to sail upwind of
the mooring, heave-to and drift sideways down on the
mooring, pick it up, make it fast and then as the stem
eyes the weather drop the sails. Of course one must
have hank-on sails for this procedure to work right so
that leaves you out, honey.

Excuse Me Bob but....

After making the mooring pendant fast one walks to the mast and cast
off both the main and jib halyards and both sails fall right down.

Poor Katy would have to drop the main with the jenny slapping her
across the head and shoulders and then go back to the cockpit to
roll up the stupid wind up sail. Sooooo lubberly, don't cha know?

OH...those kind of balls...I thought you were talking about moorings...we carpeted our mooring ball so it doesn't bong on the
side of the boat when there's some wave action. We did learn one thing this week, though. If there is a 3 foot wall of motor
boat wave coming at you, get your dinghy (with you in it) away from the back end of the boat...you could really get sucked under
there big time if you didn't take care....I fortunately had the swim ladder in my hand and pushed off before having the stern
end land on top of me....dang motor boat freakoids...they zoom right up to the channel markers and then put on the brakes
leaving a wall of water in their wake; they're still legal though, since they are under 5 knots as they enter the morring
basin...
