Default Some pics from our boating trip today

My wife and I took a shoreline cruise along the south shore of Lake Erie and
took some pics of some impressive homes from Bay Village to Lorain mostly
Avon Lake (my home town).

The name of the game along the shoreline is to tear down and build larger.
The house my wife lived in (her father built it) was torn down many years
ago and a mansion was built on the lot.

Included in the pics of these lake front houses are pics of our modest 20
foot boat while we anchored off the Bay Village beach to cool off in the
water (registration numbers whited out), an old scow waiting to pull a
dredging barge (186) we passed along the way , the Lorain lighthouse, (217)
and the Bay Village beach (217) where we stopped to go swimming.

Great day!!! 85F, sunny. The boat ran great. Lake temp 70F, still warm
enough for a bit of swimming. ;-)

raising gas prices?

Boating pic tip #1:

If you notice the pictures were taken on the water from our *boat*?

Boating pic tip #2:

Did you happen to miss this opening sentence in my original post to this
thread?

"My wife and I took a shoreline cruise along the south shore of Lake Erie

Boating pics? Yep. ;-) But no pics of fish...just pics we took when
cruising the shoreline and having a wonderful time with my wife.

I guess the owners of those houses wont be concerning themselves with
raising gas prices?

I would think they should be especially concerned. ;-)

My wife's dad built a house (by himself with some work subbed out) on the
Lake in the 1960's. The lot was 150' x 300', lakeshore. He died before I
met my wife and her mother eventually sold it for less than $150K in the
1980's. The house was eventually torn down and a 4,000+ square foot house
built in it's place

A rich mans game at times........other time not........*timing* sometimes
has everything to do with it. ;-)

BTW: One of our NG members here (not one of Krause's friends, but does he
have any?) has a house on the lakeshore in my hometown of Avon Lake. I
don't know if I caught *his* house.

I guess I skipped it

Typical case of sold too early?

Yep.......timing is everything. I would guess the lot alone today would
sell for over $600k. :-0

The houses I showed pics of cost over $1.5 mm, most in the $2-$4 mm range.
Put them along the ocean in Florida, the Carolinas or California and you can
multiply the cost by 2.5x-8x.

They aren't all that impressive.

I don't want to be critical...but most of those pictures were too dark.
JimH probably isn't allowed in that ritzy neighbourhood in the light of day.

Jim, Snapfish is a scam. I had to register to see my niece's photos of her baby.
Now I've got them blacklisted because I got tired of all their spam. Yahoo
doesn't make a viewer register, it's easier to use, and Yahoo doesn't send spam
to my email account. Try it, you'll like it.

That one is for new members. The one below is for you to see my Mustang again!
