Up for the season??
The big wind season is just starting here. Anyone who calls himself a
sailor has been waiting for this.
The 'skipper' that I crewed with in years past called. He's all excited
about getting back into a 36 footer. yesterday he picked me up in his
new Mercedes 4 seater convertible to go look at a boat in a club across
the harbour. I tried to convince him to look at something a bit smaller
with a big cockpit because of his need to invite too many people along
to wine & dine on our sails. He's spending too much time stateside
selling clothing. It's always...'gotta go bigger' mentality where the
true Maritimer would scheme to get the most use/enjoyment out of the
least expense.

Harry says he's got a 36'er. Have you ever been out in it?

If I was invited, and I could make it, I sure as heck would go.
I couldn't imagine receiving an invite and throwing it back into the
inviter's face. That's not the way we operate here in the 'Maritimes'.

Is Harry actually posting to me? Does he do this often? Is he ****ed when he
gets no response?

Tell him I'm sorry for him.

He just wants to know if you are finished for the season. On topic and
timely question.

Don,
At the time this happened, John mentioned that Harry did invite him for a
ride on YoHo. In rec.boats, he thanked Harry, but said he was not able to
go for a ride in the Parker, due to other plans. He did not throw it back
in Harry's face. It was a year after the invite, that Harry suddenly
decided it was for a ride on his infamous Lobster Boat.

Harry publishes numerous pictures of his Parker. Yet no pictures of his
Lobster Boat, and no one except a person who uses Harry's computer has ever
seen the boat. Harry turns down easy bets to show proof of ownership of the
Lobster Boat. If you want to believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus it
is not big deal, but when Harry offered John a ride in his Parker, John did
not throw it in his face.

Since JohnH has you filtered, why do you always respond to his posts.

There you go again. This obsession is a bit unseemly. If you act
sensible you might win your way out of Harry's bozo bin and have the
chance to converse with him on a normal basis.

Don,
Have you ever known Harry to converse with anyone who disagrees with him on
a normal basis?

You and I might not agree on issues, but I try to have a normal conversation
with you. I think you can be a bit naive, but that is not big deal.

Harry,
Until John started to respond to your OT political trolls you made many
posts concerning what a fine upstanding man he was. Heck you liked him
enough to invite you on YOHO.

The minute John disagreed political, he became scum.

Herring has no manners at all, here or in person.

Why would one want to do so?

If Harry is always responding to my posts, as Starbucks says, then who is
obsessed with whom?

.............I guess I am not like the grasshopper (
http://tinyurl.com/ds5ss ).

Although I hate to discuss winterizing now I was wondering if anyone used
one of these ( http://tinyurl.com/d69nj ) to flush and winterize their
engine(s).

They retail for over $50. I was thinking of making my own (I already have
the hose and 5 gallon plastic tank). For an extra $5 in parts I am in
business.

I have always drained my engine(s) in the past then filled them with a
50/50 or so mix of antifreeze and water poured through the thermostat
housing.

Is this ( http://tinyurl.com/d69nj ) setup easier or any more reliable?
If so, how does it work?

I cannot believe how this on topic thread was immediately taken OT.

Anyway..........back to the original question:

Has anyone used this setup or is it just easier to drain the engine then
draw a 50/50 antifreeze/water mix via muffs from a 5 gallon pail?

Jim, when my boat is winterized, the plastic container is connected to muffs.
Just as the engine starts, the anti-freeze is allowed to flow down to the muffs.

Good memory. Harry has twisted the account to make it seem as though I threw it
back in his face right off the bat. After seeing his tripe here, I have since
said that I don't think I could stand to be within 25' of him for a whole day.
At that time, I didn't know his 25' Parker was actually about 35' long. That
extra 10 feet could make a big difference, since I'm getting pretty close to
deaf anyway!
