The "300" means 3.0 liter engine - the new RX330 has a 3.3 liter engine but
still has a 3500# towing capacity. I had an Acura MDX with a 3.5 liter that was
rated for 4500 lbs and it was fine for my 19.5' center console (flat roads here
in FL). I just upgraded to a new SUV with a 4.4 liter V8 and a 6000 towing
capacity so I can get a bigger boat.
