We went out to the Shenandoah yesterday to mess around a bit. Tried flyfishing for a while, but I guess I'm getting soft, because I thought it was just too damned cold. I think the temps got to the upper 40s while we were standing on the banks. Got a little warmer later in the day. I got a new V-tube (Outcast FishCat4: http://www.outcastboats.com/outcastb...cattubes.shtml) and floated around Mil Lake for a while on Saturday. Beautiful day! After 3 hrs my feet were getting a bit cold, though... Was gonna get the 12-footer out on Sunday, but spent all day getting the trailer wiring done. Never trust the wiring diagrams in a Hayes Manual! (or the wiring someone else did on the truck you bought). Ended up doing it 3 times, the last time ringing out the wires to find the right ones. So: this weekend, off to Hicks Lake with the 12-footer. Next weekend, there's a Fish-in at Sayres Lake on Saturday where I'll take the float-tube, and on Sunday there's one at Allouette Lake with the 12-footer. Oh, and the Crocuses have been out for over a month now... ![]() Lloyd Sumpter "The Tin Boat" Mirrocraft 12 |
