How safe is it to run an outboard out of the water but connected to a garden hose with "muffs"? Perfectly safe. Is the water spitting a safe indicator of proper cooling? Define "spitting". Is there a steady stream from the tell-tale, and some water coming out the through-hub exhaust (if so equipped)? If so, you're probably fine. -- ~/Garth - 1966 Glastron V-142 Skiflite: "Blue-Boat" "There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." -Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows |
