Received a letter from Toyota today.
It is an "Exclusive Upgrade Notification" with my very own "Personal Web Key".

Local dealer is apparently "the site for an exciting and unique Toyota Truck Upgrade Sale" which is only available to select clients.

I was wondering if I should contact and tell them that a handful of know-it-alls in wrecked.boats claim that my Highlander isn't a truck.

Anyway they are offering interest rates as low as 0%...cash incentives up to $4k and a special $2k trade-in voucher. Gotta make up my mind by Feb 26.

I got a 0% interest offer from Toyota when I got the Tacoma. No trade
necessary, though I did have a trade. I think there was also a $1000
cash incentive, but I don't recall for sure. The dealership tried to
sell me on a bunch of "add-on" accessories (such as undercoating" which
I turned down.

Most of those 0% deals are an OR deal. 0% financing or some bucks rebate.
California, we. Get screwed on rebates. You pay sales tax on the whole
deal. Before rebate. And the rebate is taxable. Just take the money
off the price!

That only works if the rebate is from the dealer. If it's from the
manufacturer, they have to make it a line item.

A dealer "rebate" is nothing more than a discount so it should be a
reduction in the sales price.
