Maybe because y'all are so cheap?

You're the one whining about prices, yet you call us cheap?

Maybe that 'free health insurance' costs a bit more than you think, eh? What accounts
for the big difference in prices? Taxes, perhaps?

Besides, few South Carolinians go to Myrtle Beach. Way too many tourists, and there are better beaches in SC to visit. We just don't advertise them.

Speaking of SC, I just did a quickie calculation of what my state income tax would be down there. It's right at $3000 more than I pay here!

I'll have to look at property taxes. My wife thinks Charleston might be nice. What do you think? Is the humidity atrocious?

Perfect...you can fly your confederate battle flag off the front porch
and tell everyone you're not a racist!

Actually, I got very ****ed off when I saw the big Confederate flag flying alongside
I-95 last time I came back from Richmond.

Do a lot of folks in Charleston fly Confederate flags from their porches? I've not
been there, but I assume you have.

That wasn't addressed to me, but to answer your question, no. I've been to Charleston many times, and don't recall ever seeing a Confederate flag. Its history is in the *past*. Some folks choose to never get over it, while the majority of others have moved on.

I've been to Charleston two or three times and no, I've not seen that
traitorous flag flying from porches there. Charleston is a lovely city,
with lots of interesting neighborhoods to walk around. If memory serves,
"Crazy Larry" of boating newsgroup fame lives or used to live there.

I actually like Savannah better, along with nearby Hilton Head. My wife
has a doctoral program colleague who set up a practice some years ago in
Hilton Head and Savannah - two offices - and has been trying to get her
to join the practice as a partner, but my wife really likes her job up
here. Maybe when she retires and my ashes are scattered on the nude
beach at Malibu.

No, Harry was the one talking of Confederate flags on porches down there.
