Like John says, if you are just poking holes in paper or plinking cans, maybe a .22 is more appropriate ... or maybe a BB gun. They make some real nice CO2 guns these days and a lot of people like Air Soft guns. My dad made a BB gun range on the basement when I was about 10. It used an old piece of carpet as a backstop with a stick of "K" gutter under it that recycled the BBs quite well. They collected in a bucket at the end. --------------------------------------------------- I bought a Ruger air rifle to "plink" in my yard. It's a one pump pellet type. Muzzle velocity with regular pellets is 1,250 fps. Using the lightweight alloy pellets it is 1,400 fps. Accurate as hell too. Not a single can has survived. Only problem is it's as loud or louder than my .22LR Ruger single 10 revolver because the exiting pellet is supersonic and you get the "crack" as the sound barrier is breeched. I bought it to shoot on my property without making any neighbors nervous, but it's loud enough to probably catch their attention. No complaints so far though. |
