It might be tough hitting a moving snake with a handgun. You really
don't want one of them to bite you. There is no venom but they do have
a mouth full of backward facing teeth.
I've seen the pictures. Horrendous looking monster mouths. I'd want an M-79 with a buckshot round.
My son in law has been out there with the hunters as the SFWMD
observer. He says the hardest part is finding them in the first place
and when you see it, you have to figure out which end is which since
you just see a little part of the body most of the time
They usually just shoot the part they see and get ready for a quick
follow up shot when they see the head.
The hard core rednecks will catch them alive and wrestle them down but
that is not the typical "guv'mint" hunter unless it is a herpetologist
doing a study..
Do they eat them, too? Do they taste like...chicken?
