My question is this: Should the glass bowl be FULL of fuel while under way, and at all times? If so, I can say I have sucked up something to block the flow. The filter DOES have a "Primer Button" on it, but when pushed...nothing happens. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * S. It should be post tank and pre-pump. *Don't think it's necessary to have the bowl full for it to work properly. Are you experiencing fuel starvation? It ran great at first, the other day. Went out WOT for about 10 minutes @ 33mph.I needed to get it hot to check for leaks and temperature after thermostat repair. Temperature was fine. Slowed to troll, and it wouldn't keep idle. Carb has been cleaned, check ball and all. When I got it in, I took off the pre-carb filter, and it had gas in it. My friend is convinced it's the Voltage Regulator. After trolling in 10 miles @ 3 mph (all it would do, and stay running), the batteries were dead. If I advanced throttle, it would cough. It died near the dock. We were waiting for another 26 foot boat that had been towed in, out of fuel; and had to "hover" for 5 minutes. The dudes in the towed boat had been out a day and a half. Apparently, they came up the Lake, and never stopped for fuel at Long Point, or Port Bruce....DOH!!!!!! He thinks the voltage regulator is causing the starvation symptoms? Did you check to see what was happening with the choke after it warmed up? Maybe need to recheck the float bowl and check valve to ensure they're working freely. |
