Nope. Before that....
Didn't the steel used in the new ship sorta have a similar experience
already?
Have you figured out why Gene would make such a wish for a ship?
His statement was a bit obtuse, but the ships he mentioned were all
damaged at Pearl Harbor, but were repaired and went on to fight in
WWII. Perhaps he's just hoping this ship will go on to fight in the
war on terror?
Hopefully.

I believe it already has.
Did I miss something? What's it done?
Poorly worded on my part. The steel it was made from came back from
an attack and lives to fight back, which is the opportunity the
mentioned ships received.

If that's not it, maybe Gene will clarify.
Most probably that's what he meant. At least I hope so.

I'd bet most of the steel post-war went into building Toyotas.

Now I'll feel much more patriotic in my 4Runner. :)

4Runner? What a POS! The Rav4 is what all the "real men" want to be

I once shook hands with a pudgy guy who:

Sailed from San Francisco to Hawaii.
Rounded Cape Horn, twice.
Transited the Panama Canal.
Has owned more than 20 boats in his lifetime.
Sailed large boats competitively.
Has been hundreds of miles from land in a powerboat
under his command.

And who set a new record for the most distance covered
and most fish caught in the Chesapeake Bay in the shortest
time!

How can you claim to be interested in military events when, as a former
Lt
Colonel in the US Army, you disrespect your current Commander in Chief?

That post was about as stupid as a post could get.

Now I'm not saying you're stupid, Donnie, but....

Are you claiming that you haven't disrespected Obama here......??

I haven't changed my mind....you are a poor representative of a senior army
officer.
Shame on you!

Coming from one who considers Krause, et al, above reproach, that's
quite a compliment.

At least you don't have to bow down to the Queen of England when she
passes by.

|Bingo! Those ships, sunk at Pearl Harbor, arose again and avenged the
|attack on America by taking the battle back to the enemy. They won
|dozens of battle stars and other awards for meritorious service. I

|
|IMHO, they should all have been converted to museums (locally, like

|Apparently, John needs a primer on history.... and Loogy? We'll, he's

|
|I am glad that's what you meant. On the surface, it sounded much like

|
|Sorry about that.

Not a problem..... and if you do make the move to NC, you'll be
closer to the USS NC museum and hopefully it will be enhanced by the
addition of the USS Kitty Hawk. Charleston's Patriots Point is a good
show, too!

Nice golf course too. You'll like hole 17.

This Newsgroup post is a natural product. The slight variations in

Don needs to do a bit of research on the constituiton of his own
country, http://www.canada.gc.ca/aboutgov-aus...cture-eng.html.

Just in case done doesn't comprehend, I spelled constitution with a
little c and not the big C.
