Nope. Before that....

Didn't the steel used in the new ship sorta have a similar experience
already?

Have you figured out why Gene would make such a wish for a ship?

His statement was a bit obtuse, but the ships he mentioned were all
damaged at Pearl Harbor, but were repaired and went on to fight in
WWII. Perhaps he's just hoping this ship will go on to fight in the
war on terror?

I believe it already has.

All those ships were at Pearl Harbor, and several were at the Japanese
surrender in Tokyo Bay.

Remember Scapa Flow where the German High Seas Fleet was scuttled after
WWI? I read something recently that I found interesting. Apparently,
because those ships were forged before the nuclear age, they don't
contain any radioactive isotopes. Some of the metal is now being
salvaged for use in space probes and other sensitive mechanisms. From
the Battle of Jutland, to deep space, who would have known?

Poorly worded on my part. The steel it was made from came back from
an attack and lives to fight back, which is the opportunity the
mentioned ships received.

If that's not it, maybe Gene will clarify.

Most probably that's what he meant. At least I hope so.

How can you claim to be interested in military events when, as a former Lt
Colonel in the US Army, you disrespect your current Commander in Chief?

That post was about as stupid as a post could get.

Now I'm not saying you're stupid, Donnie, but....

Donny boy. Weather or not you realize it, you are disrespecting Obama by
not refering to him as President Obama. But hey. what can you expect
from an out islander.

I'm beginning to change my mind about the second sentence.

I doubt floridajim knows the difference between those two words. But he
is a close friend of Eisboch, and served his country doing really
important stuff in the navy during the war we lost to vietnam.
