Have you guys been invaded by quagga mussels yet? They've found their way

Sheesh.

Are those the same as zebra mussels? Those are able to detach and
reattach, which means they can easily travel from lake to lake by
trailer boat. Some ship loaded fresh ballest water in a European
river, and dumped it in a US river. It would have cost money to change
the water for salt during the crossing.

They used to not change ballast. They are required now. We have lots of
immigrants. Lots good, some bad. The Mitten Crab was really bad for a
couple years, but it seems the Sturgeon and other fish have developed an
appetite for crab now.
